Good video Prickly! As a customer, I don't care who is to blame I only care that folks can use the module that they paid for, that's all that matters. This may be a very western perspective but ED isn't our friend, it's a business that exists only to make money, they don't need defending from fellow customers. I for one think the modules shouldn't be sold or have a clear disclaimer that the future of the module is uncertain, in my mind it makes both ED and Razbam look bad, but moreso ED since they are the store front.

My opinion on ED vs Razbam drama: It doesn't matter who did what to whom. The damage is done. It costs a lot of money to fund the development of complicated modern aircrafts, and the early access helps the teams in funding the entire projects. And the whole system is based on the customer's trust that they will get a product in the end. But now that trust has been destroyed (at least for me). Next time I will be very very careful about buying modules in early access. And if more people do it same as me, it can be a big problem for developers to fund challenging projects like modern aircrafts or for ED to maintain and develop DCS world. Which may lead to the destruction of the whole DCS ecosystem.

Basically we either support the edge of development by buying early access or we forget about new modules or even the DCS ecosystem. Moreover, even if they are fully complete modules, any update could break them, so no module is safe from being broken as long as it has the support from ED and the third party developers.

Launching an interceptor fighter without a working radar, but 2 cement bars for C of G reasons (Health and safety compliant)…. See MOD productions, Tornado (Blue circle radar mod!, MOD approved) Never mind ED errors, this lot cost the taxpayer millions. Hence I can’t get too worked up if a software company screw up! It was a long time after the Mull of Kintyre crash that us talking freight we’re happy in a Chinook.

ED kind of operates like an old school defense contractor. They are constantly in experimental and development mode and there will always be unforseen delays. Unless they really drop the ball, you'll just have to get over it.

The true shame of the razbam situation is they are actually quite prolific as far as 3rd parties go with 4 modules and the MiG23 in development. They also have the F8 Crusader they've produced for a previous game so if they were to turn their hand to that, they wouldn't be starting from zero.

Those SA images are looking great. Hopefully we can get that level of detail to the whole terrain which is an amazing part of the world. About ED and Razban issues, I can suspect what problems are really related, and I can understand that kind of issues will happen with this particular products due to the great complexity, cost and small business niche when some products are not working as well as expected. I spent a few years as the communications officer for a large, often-fractious group of very smart, very opinionated professionals in a technical field. One thing I learned is that not providing information (even if done for very sound, sensible reasons and/or strict instructions from Legal) comes with a significant cost in rumour control. Even demonstrably false ideas can become imbedded to the point where they are difficult if not impossible to counter. And the longer that people remain starved for information, the worse things tend to get.

delays are now standard, and the fact that there is no news to report concerning Razbam after 2 months says a lot in itself. One more thing, I haven't heard much about the F-4u, I hope there isn't any issues there. I did notice Wags was supposed to start a series of videos answering popular questions and that seems to be on hold for the time being.

It is what is. I have not forgotten some of the game breaking bugs that pushed out in the past, and the state of F16 when it launched. Also the long silences. ED is doing a great job compared to how things used to be. I have no issue with them hanging onto the Chook until it's ready.

Great job lol , you must be new here. Over the last 15 years other then new modules dcs keeps pumping out, the game has been the same. Infantry units still moving worse then small world animatronics, core gameplay is terrible, ground vehicles, hahah, combined arms hasn't changed a bit. When will you realize dcs cares about nothing but new module sales, and maps that no one is buying . Even though the servers show less and less people these days, it's the same 2 or 3 maps and that's all. Sorry but this game is dwindling away

The FFB Base from Moza looks good. 9nm of torque. I just purchased the Wild Weasel Ground Pounder F-16 campaign and the last two maps I didn’t own. South Atlantic and Kola. I was surprised at how sparse the Quick Missions were on SA especially. So I just downloaded User File Missions. I’ve just gone back to 2D TrackiR from the Crystal as the HUD in the F-16 looks a little fuzzy to me. There’s a mod to make it clearer but it doesn’t pass the IC on Servers and it doesn’t really help that much.

Conflicts over contractual obligations. RAZBAM accused ED of not paying them for Strike Eagle sales, ED pointed to breach of contract over intellectual property. The only good news is both teams said they're willing to resolve, but it's not happening fast enough for the community, and RB is putting work on its modules on hold until this is resolved. The silence post the public sratements is leading to mass speculation.

I would be helpful if you would acknowledge that ED is selling broken and unsupported modules such as the F15E. This is a fact! No conspiracy. This is why the community is disappointed with ED. At the end of the day, it is their platform and their primary accountability is to the customer.

Well, firstly, ED didn't produce the F-15E, and the F-16, F-18, Apache, Hind, Blackshark A-10CII, the various WWII birds, and various 3rd party aircraft are all working well.

Publicly RB have said we're not abandoning our products and we wish to turn the page and move on, and then I get people quoting me quotes that the developer wants ED to take the modules down. Meanwhile on a public forum by ED employees, I'm told by them that legally they can't take the modules down and legally they can't make any comment. And again, people will quote quotes from RB people off Discord who're not apparently subject to legal embargoes throwing out snippets with counter claims. It's all helping to make this situation clear as mud.

I wonder how the Razbam vs ED issue affects 3rd party development and sales. I was thinking of getting the WinWing F15EX throttle grips or even a whole Orion 2 15EX but not now. And then they might have been thinking of an F15 stick or other F15 products. This rift not only puts pressure on sales at ED, but WinWing and maybe others. Then there are future AC releases under the pre-purchase and early access that might give hardware developers some second thoughts about developing products. I've written off the F15 as a $60 loss, no big deal as that has always been true when buying games. But now I'm not investing in hardware to with it either.

You can get a refund on the 15 if you bought it through standalone. I put a ticket out on the 8th and got a full credit refund on the 17th. also out of the winwing lineup, the 16EX stick has more buttons and in my opinion is better, and the 15Ex throttle is a bit odd and I was turned off of it by a fair few of the buttons being in odd setups that would not work well for DCS. In my research, I think the 16Ex Hotas is the best pick. Cheers!

nobody likes delays after having paid...but over all what ED delivers for the money and in regard to the currently available hardware is simply amazing. I am currently forced to use one of the other popular flight sims because I am preparing for a type rating and the comparison with DCS is astonishing. DCS is so much ahead with regard of everything except graphics maybe. And other flight sims are also not cheaper...rather the contrary. Nevertheless I would apreciate if ED would concentrate a bit more on issues like the stuttering which makes the game more and more unplayable for me and is in my opinion more important than new features like beautiful explosions or grass movement. it seems, many players had to turn down their graphics settings after the recent updates in order to be able to play.and this should be rather on the top of EDs to-do list.

It’s not delayed. It’s right on time. The release is never the date they mention. So… right on schedule. It’s laughable really. They should just stop giving dates and announce a patch is on the horizon. Then on the day it goes live, make the announcement along with the patch notes. No disappointments and no missed expectations with the community that way.

It's built into the Pimax Crystal headset via Tobii eye tracker. So yes DCS technically supports it, but it's more a feature of the Crystal system.

i have seen someone compare the Chinook feature list to and i qurote "a 90's toyota corrolla on a shady used dealership. ED said Vulkan was going to happen this year. I don't see that happening. Unless all these new models were created to work on both engines. And I again don't see that as a possibility without spending a tremendous amount of money. I was hoping that in the beginning, that was the cause of all the delays.

That and many other complex moving parts. My understanding from comments by Nick Grey late last year was that they were hoping to have Vulcan implemented this year, but there was also a statement that it was going to be complex and time consuming, and likely it wouldn't be implemented in 2024. It needs to happen though, if they want to unlock the potency of modern hardware with a better API, since they're not going to use DX12.

Yeah the drama is a pain in the ass but it's there. These products are basically on par with an engine out aircraft at the moment. They say they're working on it and I'm sure they're are but man this situation is painful and the slow nature of it doesn't help. I think everyone just wants to move on. Still, there's plenty of toxic people in the community. I remember getting flamed a couple years ago for daring to suggest something unbelievably controversial... learning basic airfield patterns and radio call outs. I know, shocking. Still, as ludicrous as a lot of this is, I think a lot of it is DCS has felt like it's on the cusp of transforming for what feels like a couple years now. ED have done well to refine the product, it runs much better, looks better-heck even comparing it to when I joined via a Viper pre-purchase and now it's like night and day. But really it's a refinement of what it's already been. And really, to meet market demands, it needs to be more. As others say, it's a great cockpit simulator, but after that there's not much to write home about. I do think the game needs large revisions and major additions. I feel like we needed DCS 3.0 about a year ago. A lot of people have legitimate concerns and criticisms but the ones spewing toxicity and conspiracy theories are probably a result of, frankly, how slow it's been, both in dealing with the dispute and the development of the sim. It's not an excuse, not by a long shot, but I think the dream of what DCS can and should be needs to be realized as soon as possible, and the wait has people frustrated and manifests itself into what we're seeing. Plus there's always those few who just wake up and decide being a wank is a career.

Genuinely don't understand why people are shitting the bed about the Chinook or the patch being delayed. If the current feature list of the Chinook doesn't appeal to you, don't buy it. It's in early access, and ED has done a solid job with following through with updates for their modules. The F-16 and AH-64 are miles from where they started, and are both awesome modules now. And a week delay is nothing, we've gotten the F-4E, the Kiowa, and Kola in the span of a couple months, with another map, module, and FC2024 coming in the next patch. Just relax, and be glad they're addressing bugs before release

There is always going to be the die-hard ED fairhful who will never see fault in anything ED does. ED is the only dev I know who routinely miss release dates, postpone modules at the 11th hour (Supercarrier for example) ED flat out lied when the were being asked hours before release if it was going to be postponed and a member of the community team (I won't say who) said "all was good and people were reading too much into it". I've been playing DCS for about 7 years and am perfectly accustomed to how they operate so don't really care if they postpone their releases. However I am also not blinded to their inability to manage their PAYING customers expectations effectively or their inability to communicate effectively. Hiding behind the line of Early Access is no excuse, in my opinion.

what pisses me off about the ED RZB issue is, that reefunds dont hurt ED. they just give you fking store credits. THEY have the money for all the RZB product they did not make for free when ED can just cut off the money flow, other 3rd parties will think twice to jump on the russian style ED train. yes.....in its core ED is still scummy russian
