I live near an Army training base, and many times over the years I've had encounters with Black Hawks and the old OH-58s up in the mountains while riding my dirt bike. It's always been a mutual thumbs up or rock on from both sides. We love it when you guys say hello!

Awesome! Cleared To Engage! You’re at 5-7 rotor disks. Another technique is have LEAD face 90* to the right (on the ground) and turn off your position lights when you’re ready. Hell call “TORCH” and will pull pitch at zero seconds. You should pull at 1. That will keep the accordion effect down. Fly at 10 rotor disks or more to allow your gunners to engage targets that LEAD calls out. You can stack down (lower than LEAD) if you go BLIND. Usually can happen at night over cities because of lights. Great stuff!

Get the MH/HH60 flight models and do this again. It would be cool to see two Pave hawks flying in low level day tactical formation.

LOL 3 rotor disks = 10. That was a good combat cruise position though.

AWESOME lol QUESTIONS : The Huey has 3 different Altimeters The Standard I'll call the one right in front of you. The second is the Radio Altimeter to the left in the middle. Then the one on the Copilot side that is a AAU-32/A Pneumatic Counter-Drum-Pointer Altimeter. I understand the How to read this type of Altimeter, but I don't Know How it should be set up before Takeoff. Setup for AGL or MSL? for the area you spawn into. I use MSL setting on the Standard one in front of me because of the Radio Altimeter in the middle.

I want to be a fighter pilot, but I feel like I’m not smart enough. I want to think that is normal and every pilot had that mentally.

It's not about being smart, it's about being smart under the stress of G-force. You can always be a drone pilot. In about 20 years, there will be drone operated fighters.

Also curious to know this. I've seen some "Huey Pilots" on forums say that it is decently realistic, but who knows. I've got .7 in an R44 so I can't really say lol

I guess it depends on two things: The peripherals used and the lack of inertia when you sit at a desk instead of really moving through air.

The DCS UH-1flight model is very much like the real thing. I haven't flown a Mi-24 but was thoroughly impressed that the programmers actually modeled retreating blade stall at high airspeeds. Looking forward to the OH-58D and the AH-64D and expecting excellent modules based on what we've seen so far and past releases. Peripherals also add another level of realism. The Virpil TCS collective is a must for helicopter enthusiasts.
@oilers8990
@oilers8990 2 жыл бұрын
Haven’t flown anything currently in DCS, but the helicopter models are relatively realistic. It’s hard not being able to “feel” the air and movement but it’s not bad. A collective and pendulum pedals really vamp up the realism and ease of flying helos. No peripherals sucks, but there’s no way to really get around that.
