Like your enthusiasm. Quite new to DCS myself and I’m enjoying the warbirds on both the Channel & Normandy maps. Looking forward to Normandy 2! I find you are absolutely right about the importance of getting control curves right. I have found in my learning (on Mosquito, Spitfire, P-51 & P-47) that it has helped to start on each of these aircraft with ‘Takeoff Assist’ fully on and ‘Rudder Auto Coordination’ On. This means you can avoid the frustrations of crashing so often on takeoff, can get airborne more easily and get a feel for the plane(s) and your controls setup. Once I get the hang of flying around, I turn OFF ‘Rudder Auto Coordination’, fly around some more to get a feel for how plane flies with my rudder input. Thereafter, having achieved (some level of) competence flying an aircraft I turn off ‘Takeoff Assist’ And focus on taking off with me controlling yaw with my rudder. I’m 2D, and not VR. I find it very difficult to do the ‘Three point’ landings, as it is, for me, very difficult to judge my actual height over the runway. So, more often than not I go for the ‘Two Wheeled’ landings which, for me at least, results in less ‘crash landings’!!! Keep up the good work

All flying,is a challenge. I have a light sport licence in Australia and I know it's a challenge. There are some good tutorials for take off etc. Normally getting the rudder trim set is a great help., I'm new to ww2 but really enjoying it. I have the spit, Mustang and Thunderbolt. Going to be fun :)

Set your rudder 6° to the right before take off. Increase throttle slowly and smoothly. You'll be on the pedals anyway steering. Most people bork landings at the last second by flaring too hard in ground effect. Tiny, smooth, adjustments. "Descend the plane gently onto the runway in a flat manner" That's the best way I can describe the P51 3 point landing.

@Phoenix Rising I'll give it a go. Look forward to flying the war birds again soon. The shooting is pretty hard. Practice practice practice:)

I can beat this training 109. The P51 is squirrelly compared to almost everything. Good rudder/coordinated flight is key. Give yourself a deadzone and a curve on the flightstick. In this mission try to keep turning to the right, eventually you'll be able to pull him in. Don't pull too hard. You'll spin stall.

It's a good idea to reduce the curves right down so as not to stall, the P51 wing, which is far too easy and frustrating. Once you do she becomes much more fun to fly :) Learning the rudder work. That's taking time ⏲️ 😀
