DD HAMMOCKS, in my opinion, dd hammocks kit is absolutely bang on , extremely reliable, I'm W ,Scotland based, heavy rains,high winds frequently all year, DD tarp just grins at it lol, I've got a few bits of DD kit, because it's the best on the market and field for quality to cost , and the priceless cost at knowing that the quality will not fail.

Hey Chris, I saw that same video that Dave Canterbury made on this tarp/tent quite a while back and I liked it as soon as I seen it. I went on the Self Reliance Outfitters website right after I saw the video. They did not have it yet. Forgot all about it, good to know it's now available. Thank you! that's great that you can get an optional mosquito net with waterproof floor too. Appreciate the video. Take care. Looking forward to seeing your camping trip.

I purchased the DD A-Frame mesh tent that can go inside of this tent this year. I used in on two trek outings. I just used a Snugpak 10x10 tarp over it when rains prevailed. I'm looking to get this outer tent to use in conjunction with the mesh unit. I've seen videos showing their combination together.... may be a solid 3 season set-up for me. Thanks for sharing!

The DD Superlights are meant to take the handles of the trekking poles into the pockets on the tent., not the point ends of the poles. I first made this mistake on the mesh tent. Then, I saw a review where they taught me the correct way. Turn them around... handle up and point in the ground.
@Skills2survive6 жыл бұрын
That's what I did when I turned them around. Works better that way. I wish I would have known that from the beginning... lol 😂. Thanks for watching 👍

@@Skills2survive I think that they may have improved the mesh DD tent because with that one ,you do put the point of the pole upper most.

I've seen people alter the old military pup tents like this and you could use them around fire because of the canvas

Nice man!! Good overview/review! I’ve actually never heard of DD... About how much did that A-frame run you?

It was $155 from Self Reliance Outfitters.

And 10 pounds lighter I guess. Just getting ready putting kits together for my wife and myself for hike/prep/survival and started with Dutch army surplus pup tents. Those were way to big and heavy to carry around so just orderd this and the inner tent. Saves close to 10kg. 20 poundsish
@couchcamperTM3 жыл бұрын
@@sunneh666 good choice, the Dutch tents are great, if I had a Sherpa I'd get one, but their weight makes them a no-go for backpacking.
@thewatchman60744 жыл бұрын
Best way to utilize this tent is to suspend it from a ridge line, which means you don't need to carry poles.

I tried that and it didn't work out well.🤔. I think I was trying to get it too tight. I am going to try it again..

I am not sure why you are trying to troll my video? As I said previously, I haven’t had any issues in the rain with my particular tent, other people may have ! I have had it in the rain, wind, fall and summer heat. If you are that worried about this tent leaking, then don’t buy one !!
