DD SPEED SHOP MOVES ACROSS COUNTRY- In an 89 Caprice and a U-Haul!

We know we've kept you in the dark for a while, but we've been CRAZY busy planning this move! Its no easy task moving your life two provinces over! We had to do it in two weekends! And Dan's already been gone for a month at this point, but we are finally in our new shop and can't wait to spill some transmission fluid on the shiny new floor! Thank you ALL OF YOU! It takes a brave person to Make a move like this. My dad once told me "If ya don't jump ya won't know where to land". I was too complacent to make any jump since 1982. Built the house, raised the kids, worked, lost the wife and now retired. I now tell my son anything he drags home better be something he wants to clean up after I'm gone. My advice is to do everything you can while you have good health and when health problems arise, do anything you still can. Best wishes on the new place. Montana is within your reach!

Wow, Dan and Dani moving to oil country. Fun fact, out of the 20 million barrels per day that the USA consumes, around 3.4 million barrels come from the Canadian province of Alberta. Dani, that salt is the Sodium Sulphate mine at Chaplin, Saskatchewan. It is used in detergents and the pulp and paper industry. Cool to see as I once lived in that town.

We moved from the LA area, Carson. To Mt Shasta. California is a very long state. At least three trips with truck and trailer full to the max. Over six hundred miles one way. We always drove straight through. 1985, I was 29 years old and considered it an amazing adventurer but quite exhausting. So I feel your pain. Congrats on the beautiful new home. Looks amazing. And congrats on the new job. What do you do? But what about John and Cecil? They were beginning to feel like a spin off of DDSS.

Good luck on your new home !! Sure looks spacious and elegant !! Hope Dan enjoys that new shop !! Looks like there's enough room there for both kinds of lifts. For sure, Dan will enjoy that !! Listening to your naration about where you drove through to get to Calgary. From my experiences crossing Canada, I believe you drove through Jasper and Kamloops also, no ??? First time we did that was in +- 1982 when both of those little towns were "little towns" !! In 2018 we did a cross country trip across Canada by train and went through them again. Couldn't believe the difference!! They had grown into "little cities !! If you're close enough to Cargary, give yourselves a treat for some "special occasion" and spend a couple of nights at the Banff Springs Hotel in Calgary. You simply won't believe the feeling of "grandeur and elegance" once you step inside that wonderful old building. Even if you go there and do nothing else. You will NOT WANT TO LEAVE !!! Anyway, much success and good fortune in your new location !! That new job must be a real "doosey" !! It would be interesting to know what Dan does for a living since we certainly know what he does for "leisure" !! Edit: OOPS !!! All of a sudden it just dawned on me that you were traveling from the East to the west while we did both trips going to or from the west coast (Vancouver/Victoria). Vancouver to Calgary, driving in 1982. Toronto to Vancouver, via train, in 2018. Both times crossing through Kamloops and Jasper.
