Some extra context: That Bren WR run happened first, and when he oneshot the wallride everyone realized a finish could happen very soon, too soon! So all the other top players went live right then, and there was a time where the top 4 was all playing at the same time. The clips from other players you see in the video basically all happened at the same time, shortly after that WR run :)

Elconn looks like he really really wants to gazump this. Bren was not at all happy about going to bed with the 3 others playing and streaming. At the time of writing Elconn is 8 and a half hours into his stream, still with remarkably many runs making it to floor 15 and 16. One of the absolute highlights of this race was when all 4 were playing and at one point we were 1 failed trick by one of them from having all 4 on floor 16 at the same time. I imagine tomorrow is the day if Elconn does not get there with an all-nighter.

I really appreciate that the floor 16 mapper added "practice" routes that aren't progress but let the runners fine tune their approaches to obstacles without risking, while still being different enough that actual attempts aren't exact 1:1 comparisons

Bren seems to have largely conquered floor 15 as well. If you want to be pedantic Hazard is "ahead" of Lars; he got far closer on the jump that they both failed. At one point during the climb Lars and Elconn were trading positions; seeing them race each other on deep dip tv was pretty great to watch.

It was never a competition of "Who's gonna get there first", only "We need to be able to climb it" he didn't say anything about that. Honestly considering the challenge that is Deep Dip 2, the more you try to "focus on beating someone" the more likely you're going to fail. Consistency by self improvement is way better.

never played tmania, but i have a feeling i understand most if not all concepts in some way - however thins final dirt slide they prac and prac and prac so much on the line grind the dirt front up, bounce on the back, risk of falling, been watching the trick for weeks now and then they skip it when they break WR's? i think i need an explanation here im certain im the one misunderstading but why grind all the dirt wall and not just go up down like hazard in this vid

So the dirt-slide part that they are now skipping was a "practice" area for the one that Bren did in his WR run. The only reason Bren was able to one-shot the one in his WR run was all of his practice earlier, but I think now the leaders feel that they've done enough practice and don't need to do that any more.
