I have a bad habit for cussing, sometimes I think I have tourette's syndrome. I don't like it, it's a kind of a release. It is nice not hearing sexual innuendos, cussing....what we have in movies now, seem to be demonic.😢 I really enjoy the older movies.

It very much reminded me of the Cannon TV series. I love seeing Old Los Angeles. Interesting seeing Jane Meadows in a part where she says so little, as she was very talkative in real life. Castle was awesome. Tons of character actors. Someone said the story was 'very tight' and that describes it to a T. Thanks for posting it.

The Fat man radio program was one of my favorite radio programs growing up in the 1940's along with Intersanctum, The Mysterious Traveller, Suspense, Sherlock Holmes, The Shadow, Nick Carter, Gangbusters, This is the FBI and Mr. District Attorney. That was my entertainment during the War Years until my parents bought a TV in 1950.

I assume you are a Woman, I find it strange that you didn't find "The Fatman" calling Jane Meadows "Sweetheart" all the time, even though he knew her name, just a little demeaning and illmannered for a Woman he had just met? They treated women with very little respect in those days and it shows in this movie....but they didn't say "bum" and that is what you took from it? You are much better off living today than back then.......but nostalgic memories can play tricks on us

"The Thin Man" is one of my favorites, I never knew there was a "Fat Man". He was "Cannon" before William Conrad. Rock Hudson and Julie London! Emmett Kelly. Marvin Kaplan. Really liked this movie. "He's in surgery" :D 16:28 R Chandler (Raymond?)

Julie London appears in this film as Pat Boyd. She was married to Jack Webb of "Dragnet" fame. She was also a series regular on "Emergency!" with her husband Bobby Troup, Robert Fuller, Randolph Mantooth, Kevin Tighe. The series was created by Jack Webb.

Wow, young Rock Hudson before he became a star. Too bad it's not a nicer print, still good though. I didn't know Willian R Castle did film noir. His comic side shows through without spoiling the dark feel of film noir. Rock Hudson was in the closet since his service in WWII. I never seem to get tired of these old BW classics.

I'm going to make a show called the "Fat Woman". I can't see any problem with this whatsoever.

Of course most of you probably don't know that Roy Clark is a country music artist and comedian from the late 50's - the mid 70's . The name being the same for the mystery man in the movie is hilarious :)

Love the "fat" opening theme. A Fat theme for the fat man. The FIRST original radio episodes are also very good. I mean the first ones with Smart.
