My home is in the middle of the woods in Michigan. This year I have buttons, spikes, 4, 6, 8, and 10 pointers running the Does through my back yard and within 40 yards of the house. I've taken as much video as possible during the rut. I just retired this year and had no idea there were so many bucks on my property.

I got to watch a rutting buck chasing a doe in Cades Cove and it was awesome. He ran a HUGE buck off and the doe stopped and raised her tail and started spraying like crazy and he went over there and was loving that smell. His hair was standing up and his ears were hanging down and his tongue almost seemed like it was hanging out of his mouth. She ran off and left the poor guy hanging. LOL!

Good video even if it is on a deer farm shows what could happen on any property not over pressured. Alot of people dont see alot of rut activity because they blow their spot up with scent and intrusions before it really gets good.

@@mikeguy9668 if you guys aren't seeing this where you hunt, then you're sub par hunters plain and simple. I hunt heavily pressured public in Wisconsin and I always find the action during the rut. Don't be afraid to be more mobile. If you aren't in the action then scout your way through the land you hunt and find the action and set up.

Does a tree make a sound when if falls in the woods, if no one is around? Just cause you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not happening. You need to be out there during the rut

This is how my sack of shit father in law hunts and thinks he is awesome and knows everything. When he is just really a shit bag that illegally baits animals (baiting is illegal in our state) and also trespasses on private land that he doesn't have permission to hunt. Thinks he is the best hunter ever because he has killed a couple 130-140ish bucks. Only 1 deer that I know of him killing since I have been around was killed fair chase legally. He is also a total dirtbag that gleans info of game location and goes and hunts it himself or tells everyone else about the area. My partner feels obligated to tell him everything because that is dad and has no spine because of not wanting to put the dad out or cause waves. I have literally had to leave good hunting areas that I have found with boots on the ground because dad moves in and sets up some massive salt lick and puts a tree stand on it. Which I absolutely refuse to break the law. Pisses me off that people like dad get away with breaking the law and think they are so great. Any moron can throw corn or salt on the ground and kill a deer. It is one thing if your state allows that kind of hunting but when it doesn't that is an issue to other hunters abiding the law.

True, but if it is a deer farm, doesn't that mean that the deer farmers will kill the deer for their meat and antlers.

My hunting spot sucks. It’s great with lots of action till just before bow season then they go away. Mid November does move back in for a day or two then vanish. I don’t see a deer until the last week of January. I’ve got food plots, cover, and live on a hill that over looks it all. It’s the same every year. They become nocturnal af.

Ok I have to ask why always hunt bucks? Last time I hunted years ago it was hunt a buck or doe it didn't matter. Ya it's been a long time. But why the buck? A good buck can be father to many better deer bigger and stronger. And the fact that females out number males. It would make sense to hunt the doe.

i guess i wonder: male deer won't know who the father is so do they compete to be the father or is having the opportunity to mate driving their instincts? doesn't that mean every male near her will mate with her until her hormones change to "pregnant"? i just wonder why they'd compete if males within the vicinity will get a chance unless the doe can decline to mate?
