It’s looking great. I love cherry bombs. Nothing better than that old vintage sound. You should try to work on the roof and make it a removable hard top, that way you can drive it in bad weather. I think it would look sweet as a removable hard top and you don’t have to try to find convertible pieces.

I watched you start and back it up for the live show, I really don't get into the lives as its Where is Steve, whats Dani drinking, yada yada so I kinda watch some and then go do something as people tend to just bug me. I am surprised at how good its turned out and glad that this one will be one of the better make it run and drive again video series. I wish that you did the steering column swap on all the rigs as I hate that one piece shaft sticking out at me. New seat covers or not, a mexican blanket over the front seat is almost a religious thing. I slept in the front seat of a few of my rigs, that blanket was really the thing that kept me going. I love tilt hoods also but oh so hard to make them fit right and not ..... you have your 55, what can I say that you don't know. I don't care if you do glass in the doors and sides or not but damn man, put some kind of door cards in it... I won't send pictures of my fat ass but the scars from my accident are imbedded into my brain, those holes acted like ice cream scoops and took chunks out. Its real fucked up to say the least. I'm thinking a back bumper is in the cards as they hide a lot of sin. Nice job Dan

I noticed that you had the engine oil dipstick & tube out of the engine & up by the windshield . I reckon that was to facilitate the header installation . I bet that made a bit of a mess when it started & ran , but hey , it's running . I figure when you put the manifold gaskets & header bolts in , you will reinstall the dipstick tube as per the available routing room . You are definitely never a dull moment to watch . Thanks for the "tookus" shot there Dani ! Dan , as always never letting a selling point go to waste , grinning says ," Like share & subscribe !" Too funny ! Nice progress on the convertible , guys !

@elmermeek61623 жыл бұрын
I've watched your show for a couple of years now, and im just now responding to 1 of them, I my self have a 1956 Chevrolet, 2 door sedan delivery, any way summit racing sales a 2 and 1/2 inch steel braided flexible exhaust connector and I can say for sure they work wonders when messing with exhaust pipes, you cut off the collector flanges and they slip over the collector pipe and the pipe going to the muffler side you could mount the rear tail pipe from the flex tube back solid and the flexible steel braided pipe will allow the engine to do its rocking back and forth with out breaking any welds, I installed a set on a chevy k5 blazer monster truck and they were awesome. I don't remember the part number I do know they were sold separately. And as tight of space you have on the convertible it would keep them from rattling against the frame, you could mount the pipe inside the frame rail solid, and still have the required flex where it counts. The only draw back is you have to use the stainless steel exhaust band clamps to secure them, they like the ones used on big rig trucks, they will have bolts and nuts to tighten them, I also bought those at summit aswell.
@rksg20033 жыл бұрын
He don’t use band clamps that’s what that Miller is for lol
@elmermeek61623 жыл бұрын
@@rksg2003 the thing with using the band clamp method is if your constantly changing engine's you dont have to cut any welds, also when going from small block to big block or even to an Ls the stainsless steel flex tubing will bend to accommodate. And you dont have to worry about welding next to the floor pan. Plus you can make the exhaust modular, so it can be removed in sections with out cutting up every time you need to remove a major component like a transmission, or an engine.
