I enjoy your channel. Seems to me what you do matches perfectly with the 70 year old tri-five Chevy cars. You work with what you have and make do. It’s always fun when you take your first drive in a car that you literally assembled from used parts.

I'm sure you already know this because of how many distributors you've installed, but you know the oil pump key on the bottom of the distributor lines up with the rotor. So you can stick a long screwdriver down and line it up to number one and the distributor will drop right in fully engaged.

Idea for the roof. On another channel a guy used bed liner spray. Sand to bare,prime, tape off where seams would be, spray a build up , then spray enough coats for good coverage. Looked pretty good.
@mikecore1637Ай бұрын
Dan with point ignition you can make the points just begin open at the timing mark (motor not running ) and your timing will be spot on first time . But what fun would that be .
@budlanctot3060Ай бұрын
I was going to say same thing for points ignition. If HEI is like Chrysler electronic, then you rotate body of distributor until the reluctor wheel lines up with magnetic pickup and the initial timing mark at 8 -10 ° BTDC. Then, wherever the rotor is pointing is #1.

Come on Dan you finally got a real nice shop and you pour gas right on the floor, get yourself a barrel that you can fill with all your bad fluids and when it's full take it to whatever shop you want to work with and you give them free heating fuel and they give you a discount on parts or labor. I do that with a local shop and it helps us both out.
