Good coffee is our passion. On our KZbin channel, you will learn everything you need to know to make good coffee yourself. Our main channel is in German. We test many espresso machines and want to share our findings with the Spanish-speaking world. Through our work with coffee producers in South and Central America, we speak Spanish.
As coffee makers, we run a coffee school in Basel, Switzerland. In our courses, we teach coffee knowledge from the plant to the cup. Roasting, sensory, barista. All this knowledge is not abstract for us, but comes from everyday life. In Nicaragua, we operate the Santa Rita coffee farm, in Basel we have a roastery and the Frühling café, as well as the Kaffeemacher café at the Basel SBB train station.
Our team is led by German and Swiss coffee masters. Benjamin Hohlmann was the German Cup Tasters Champion in 2017 and the Swiss Brewers Cup Champion in 2014. Philipp Schallberger was Swiss Barista Champion twice. Felix Hohlmann is the runner-up roaster in Switzerland and was four times runner-up Barista. We are 4 Q Graders for Arabica and 2 Robusta Graders. #Kaffeemacher

I love La Marzocco and their products are truly brilliant. De Longhi makes junk so I am nervous that La Marzocco's products and quality will suffer greatly as De Longhi tries to 'rationalise' their components and supply chain etc. I really hope that De Longhi lets La Marzocco get on without too much interference. Fingers crossed.

It's a good time for la martzocco to lower their prices on the machines, otherwise next time none will save them from bankruptcy.

I'm not optimistic regarding this acquisition.. Usually when a bigger company acquires or take over a smaller but very successfully company with successful products means bad news for the customers of the small company, also bringing new processes, not necessary better processes, cost reduction, employee cut off, etc. We have quite a lot of examples of similar acquisitions in the past like LinkedIn, Skype, Saab, Twitter, Nokia, Boeing and Mcdonnell Douglas etc. Let's be honest, DeLonghi makes shitty products even for mass consumption products or entry level standards whilst La Marzocco was and still is famous for their sturdy and reliable machines. To wrap it up, I really want to be wrong on this case but I have no regards on De Longhi especially knowing their range of crappy products.

If you can't afford a La Marzocco machine it doesn't mean that machines are 'useless', maybe overpriced however I haven't seen many La Marzocco machines braking down as with the other competitors such as Dalla Corte or VA Eagle 1... so it's clear to me that you are frustrated about not affording a La Marzocco machine, it's understandable however why making a fool out of yourself and bashing a good company such as La Marzocco ? Maybe it is no coincidence that you cannot afford a high end coffee machine considering your mentality... I almost feel pity for you, almost
