I was with my ex for 10 years. He proposed and promised me a lot and soon after said he wasn’t happy and was unsure of what he wanted and strung me along for a year. Then left and promised we would be the best of friends then gave me mixed signals and treated me like shit for another year then I cut off the “friendship”. I know I talk about that whole incident a lot. It’s not bc I miss him or anything like that. It’s bc that was a significant part of my life. While with him, I lost myself trying to please him. So I remember that so I’ll never do that again. Also after we broke up, I was a wreck and I had a very special moment after crying so hard where I simply let him go and let our past go. That moment changed me forever. I made even more changes after that and worked on everything I didn’t like about myself and learned to love the things about myself that I knew were good that he tried so hard to change. That whole relationship/breakup was a huge part in me finding myself. It’s not always that you’re stuck on the past, want them back, miss them, etc. Sometimes it’s just a defining moment in our lives that we overcame.

Many people may judge because they don’t understand, but this is very much well needed, especially when you’re trying to find YOUR identity, YOUR true self, and YOUR own unique passions. Being tied to someone for so long can absolutely blind you from your true self. Everything in my new home was about me and hold no old, tired energy. I know you bought that home prior to marriage, but maybe a fresh start is something to consider.
