@@SoulZERO15 Some of the written works are under public domain. However when you make a movie with a unique look you get that distinct look to you. Think Disney's Pinnochio. In that, the classic looks that people associate with Dracula is very much owned by Universal. Heck if you wanted to make a universal dracula then one that also looked like Bram Stroker's(the movie version), then the one like from Renfield. You would need three separate IP pay outs for those specific looks.

With Vecna coming to the game they also introduced this new lore device called the “Mark of Negation.” This is a seal the Entity places on characters who would be too powerful for the trials to nerf them, such as Vecna who would wipe the floor with anybody in the entity’s realm. I bring this up because this mark could justify having Simon and Richter Belmont as the survivors without it being questionable. To be fair they need to go back and place the mark on a lot of the other killers and a few survivors too
