I'm leaning on AW2 to be GOTY but I had little to no expectations for Arizona Sunshine 2. At the start I was hooked and in my playthrough I loved every moment. It finished the game in slightly less than 6 hours on hard with no intention of quickly finishing the game, its still really short. I agree with short VR games still releasing I doubt they'll push VR forward. However, at least on PCVR the devs did a masterful job as short as the game is. If this game was 10 hours plus this would probably be one of the most fun VR games that I would have ever played. $60 dollars for 6 hours is tuff and if I only picked a select few games a year I understand why people would pass.

I thought the length of the campaign was good took me about 8 hours that bridge part I died at least 8 times until I just ran and barely hit the checkpoint within an inch of my life. The biggest flaw in this game is the the crafting system was an afterthought if a proper backpack allowed you to store the crafted weapons it would help tremendously with those difficult parts like the bridge. Also for me the grab mechanics are very janky

The bridge part I had the grenades that explode on mpact and rushed towards the next checkpoint. I was about to give up as well. The crafting system could certainly been a more integral part of the game. Its such a good game, just very shallow once you finish it.

Wasn't impressed with the first game, got it only in 2022 and it showed it's age and it was short. After the fall was slightly better but with even less content. Everything in AS2 looks like more of the same (including content/playtime) and for the ridiculous price it is a solid pass. Maybe on a 60% discount I would consider getting it. They are just taking advantage of a starved audience

For Vertigo, the price increase comes after PSVR2 where they are willing to fork more money than an average Quest users. After the Fall had a $10 decrease post-launch with constant sales but Arizona Sunshine 1 stayed at the same price almost for its entirety. With the price increase the game does feel more polished but messed up not making the game longer. If you played After the Fall the Quest version of this game is the exact build. I loved my time on it on PCVR but the Quest version feels scummy at the price tag that it is right now. Cross-buy is the reason why I even bought the game.

The game is OK. Definitely not the best of 23’. Genotype was a better game so was assassin‘s creed and propagation Paradise Hotel,. Nearly $50 for a four hour game that looks OK is ridiculous. It’s a fun game but there’s just not a whole Lotta depth to it and it’s short.

I did check out those other games except Genotype, and AS2 was the only one that had me interested from front to end. The price is too high but I bought the game with a referral code. The dev is selling a standard/deluxe edition without increasing the length of the game just the price. I can see why people aren't so fond of the game.

uh...heard it's only about 5 hours and I think a lot of people are forgetting Vertigo 2 came out this year. Screw Arizona Sunshine 2 when it comes to Game Of The Year in VR....

Game is really short took me around slightly less than 6 hours to finish. Its a great game for its short stay but man it had Me engaged all the way through. Last game that did this to me was Bonelab and look how that turned out so we'll see in due time.

I think this might have been the first major PCVR release that requires higher specs than I have on my PC. My argument is that if I can play HL: Alyx and Kayak VR on med to high settings with my GTX 1070, then I should be able to play Arizona Sunshine 2 as well.

50$, seriously? i get the markup on vr games, dont get me wrong but thats just a plain rip off. thats 10$ per hour of gameplay. its sad to see the vr community getting exploited like that and buying into it. i remember getting 10+ hours of fun gameplay for way under 30$ with games like boneworks etc.

The standard edition is $75 after tax on Quest stand alone here where I’m at in Canada, it’s too short for that. I would wait for a sale

Picked it up on Q3 and its fun, def not $50 fun. The big thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the lack of shadows on any of the characters while playing on the Q3. Hopefully that update will come soon.

Without shadows, it really just feels like every other Unity game on Quest. The dev will maybe update, but if the trend is correct Q3 updates to their other games are slated for early 2024.

If Horizon Call of the Mountain can make it as a nominee for VR GotY then I would absolutely would put this game there. But, at the same time the bar for VR GotY isn't that high.
