The stairs by the vent are a great sign they've put serious thought into this. My only real gripe is TJ Rotolo not reprising his role. The dude just WAS Frank, his voice was perfect for him. In 4 I didnt mind it as much because I could believe the character had aged but here it just feels kinda weird.

Not sure about the new voice acting and some of the character models, but I’m very pleased with the environments, the quality of life improvements such as better survivor NPCs, and that they kept the gameplay mostly the same as the original. As a fan of the first couple games I’ll be picking this one up on release

Capcom has a proven history with Resident Evil to continue remaking games if they sell decently. They also have seen that RE2 has had over 1-2,000 people playing it since release. This means people are still BUYING RE2 and is generating Capcom steady money. Then add RE3 and 4 remake sell well and continuously and now they have a whole generation of RE making them money at a steady, constant rate. If this sells well, which it will on Nostalgia alone WITH THOSE STAIRS

So Far it looks impressive, some game play shown and known issues have been addressed like the survivor AI and gun play. Minor issue with the whole more detailed look is that it makes it seemed off that unlike its counterpart resident evil, they try to make things serious while maintaining a comical tone. Definitely a buy if this means we get this franchise once rise up like it did 18 years ago.

Besides replacing Frank’s old VA this is looking great! A faithful remaster/remake while adding many of quality of life changes is definitely what this should be.

The game needs the difficulty and tension of the manual only saves IMO. It forced me to learn the mall layout and get more out of the game. Without that difficulty/tension I wouldn’t have loved the original the way I did. It is still my favorite dead rising!

I wished they took dead space remake's approach, where you remake the original game but also introduce new elements from older games. I wish this game also had combo weapons, co-op. This will become just a remaster at this point. But because of this, I'm looking forward to Dead Rising 2 Remake, where those elements will be in.

Well it does say remaster on the title. They could’ve gone really crazy with it but I’m glad they chose to respect the original developers vision but try to recreate the original experience with modern technology. Before all the other games existed, the big gimmick of the original was that Frank was just some guy and that the player could pick up almost anything not welded to the floor to survive. On the front cover of the game, Franks fighting off a mob with just a tv to show this. Dead Rising 1 is basically a survival horror game compared to every other entry.

I love DR 2 but after replaying DR 1, it just has a Unique Flair that no other games has. I say just let DR 2 be DR 2 and DR 1 be DR 1. Doe i think it would be interesting to see what their infinite survival mode would be like? Either verison could be fun. Still hate myself for doing 7 day survivor (help)

@@GodSkul that’s because it is. Half of the ‘remasters’ that release these days are actually remakes. Crash, Spyro, Tony Hawk, Tomb Raider, Metroid - all of these are rebuilt in one way or another, the publishers just like to market them as remasters.

@@strippymcroe6534 yes that’s exactly why they do it, people tend to complain over 1:1 remakes (which is what this is), so Capcom are probably doing this to avoid controversy and likely bring in more sales. This sort of explains why people don’t know the difference between a remaster and a remake - and to a point I can’t blame them because the industry has conditioned them that way.

One thing I hope they change is the fact that you can't attack while listening to Otis on the Transceiver. It'd be a pain to deal with a Zombie attacking me, and have it interrupt the conversation with him completely. While yes, it is optional to listen to Otis, the Transmissionary Achievement requires you to listen without interruption.

Only DR game I ever got to play was DR2, then DR3 moved over to Xbox exclusive which was devastating since I’m a PlayStation gamer. Looking forwards to playing DR1 for the first time!
