People need to realize the importance of the death penalty. This is a good case to demonstrate it.
@kenyattaclay76663 жыл бұрын
Almost 400 people who have been convicted of murder including 21 who were on death row that have been exonerated because of DNA. In the last 90 years there are at least 14 people that have been executed that were innocent of the crime. If you want perfect example to get rid of the death penalty read about George Stinny Jr and Rolando Cruz.
@admiralsnackbar693 жыл бұрын
@@kenyattaclay7666 the pro death lobby don't care if innocent people get executed, it's disgusting.
@nowandaround3123 жыл бұрын
It's a good case to demonstrate it until you remember all the cases of innocent people murdered by the death penalty and that Bradley wouldn't have been able to murder anyone if they hadn't let him be part of the work release program. We need better screening and profiling of criminals to determine who should be given privileges while in prison, not more state-sanctioned killing of innocent people.
@jimr94993 жыл бұрын
The logic really makes no sense. First and foremost, no criminal _ever_ has thought, "hm, I could get the death penalty for this...lemme not". The death penalty's value as a deterrent is literally zero. Secondly, anyone with any common sense can see that it is a much worse punishment to suffer the entire rest of one's life in prison than it is to simply be given the quick and relatively painless release of death. And finally and most importantly, of course, the points all these others have so eloquently made: all of the innocent people who are sentenced to death. So, really, there is not a single good argument in my estimation for keeping the death penalty.

Yeahbut why fuel the death cult? Look back at the 1930s and 40s when there were tons of executions. It became part of criminal chic and was put into movies with Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Cagney. This is how the gangster became idolized, by their connection with violent death. If a criminal just sits in prison and spins their life away in boredom, it's a lot less glamorous. In fact, many criminals ask to be executed. Why grant their wishes? That's not punishment.

@johannas.l.brushane25183 жыл бұрын
Yes, aside of the ambition to modify negative attitudes and behaviours it also provides valuable knowledge for profiling. People have often common traits even with some variation and criminals have it too. So they can narrow down to some types of culprits to search for when there initially are no obvious suspects in the victim's circle of aquaintances.

Jeez the old school detective work! When the credit card s were copied with carbon copies. B4 cell phones. No internet. 😬

In 1993 there were cellphones which had come out 10 years before. There was internet which had been invented 30 years before and available to the public for about 10 in 1993 and then scepter for small rural areas like Idaho and Montana most places had MST technology by 1993 it just still took 2 to 3 days for it to be reported to the bank.

13:25 Does anyone know if there's some sort of system where pictures of suspects will be immediately sent to all Hotels where they might stay. 14:55 And/or banks. They were both sentenced to be executed, but they resentenced the both of them to life.

That would be a very constitutionally challenging move.
