Because Dead Space it's self was heavily inspired by Resident Evil. The developers was huge RE fans and admitted as much during the game conception. Since Isaac is a 'silent protagonist' in the first DS game the journal/diary entry thing works incredibly well.

My only hope about giving Isaac voice in the game is to keep it as it was in Dead Space 2 or Dead Space 3, where Isaac, yeah, talked in dialogues, but was mostly quiet and kept to himself during "lonely" scenes, without monologuing every thing he sees with the exception of some high stress moments or when he's smashing something with his foot. They nail that - I'm loving the remake.

That's Gunner Wright's actual updated face scan. Same guy who's been voicing Issac since Dead Space 2 and who Issac's face has been modelled after from the beginning. @@DarkZerol We do see his face near the end of DS1 and we see his face ALOT in Dead Space 2. So no stop lying about the fact we don't see his face. We do see it alot more in DS2. There is nothing wrong about complaining about the changes they made to Isaac's facial appearance as well as Nicole since they will charge 70 dollars for this. When all they needed to do was make a remaster of this.
