Dead woman found 'melted' into couch, soaked in urine, feces, covered in maggots

A woman with special needs was found dead inside a Louisiana home and was essentially “melted” into her couch. Her parents are now facing life in prison. The woman was found covered in feces, urine and maggots. Those are just a few of the disturbing details behind the gruesome discovery.

I’m an old retired cop. I’ve been to many scenes where people had been dead for quite some time. I never saw anything that terrible or disgusting. The fact that the parents lived with the smell coming from their own daughter for so many years is testament to just how sick and depraved they are. Life in prison is not nearly a harsh enough sentence for them.

This is ridiculous, how could NO ONE have a clue that there was something wrong going on with this beautiful young lady. She was on the living room couch for over 10 years and family members, friends, neighbors, NOBODY was concerned about this girl's well being or whereabouts for 10 years. This really does break my heart and hurt my soul. It says a lot about humanity in this day and age, everybody is just so focused on themselves and have no love or even a shred of concern for there fellow human beings. God help us all. My mom works for Adult Protective Services here in PA, n she ended up helping a woman in this exact condition whose sons were being paid to care for her.. she weighed 70 pounds and was fused to the couch as well, covered in maggots and sores. She miraculously was finally found n is still after over a year in the hospital but is recovering slowly! I never thought that I would ever hear another story like that... until now.. I just keep getting more and more fed up with people.. this case is even worse because this was their child that they did this too.. the child they were supposed to protect

Years ago, I met a 19 year old woman with cerebral palsy in a writing class. She had two parents, and she was their only child. She was non verbal, but there was an alphabet and number grid and she used a laser light to spell out words. And one or the other parent was there to assist her. She used a wheelchair full time, and adored her parents. Turned out, she was an excellent writer, wicked funny, even if she couldn't say a word. And, she was GORGEOUS. Ethereal actually. Everyone in class loved her and her parents. I've worked with people of various ranges of CP either in school as a fellow student, or professionally. The quality of life, can be tremendous, when someone who is challenged, has opportunity...and a lot of love from a parent and other family and friends. What happened to this poor woman, was wicked...and so cruel I can't imagine she was with these monsters and no one to LOVE her. This world is SO unfair.

Why not give her to the state if they were too sick to take care of her? However the state facility I hear are not safe, orderly raping patients. I was very confused about how she was stuck in the couch until they mentioned locked-in syndrome. This person was completely aware of what was happening to her, and likely was up until the moment she died (unless she fell unconscious, which is probably what happened considering she was starved and dehydrated) but physically couldn't do anything about it. Strangely enough the maggots may have been helping keep her alive, for a while anyway. Since they only eat dead tissue it helped keep her wounds clean. Maggots can prevent infections, gangrene, and sepsis. It’s unbelievable the poor thing survived as long as she did. Sounds like she was starved too. Absolutely horrific. It’s such a shame no one thought to check up on this poor girl over the years 😔 No one wondered why she was never seen??? Just tragic.

My best hope is that she passed away from either malnourishment, a sickness or disease, or starvation before she felt that. If maggots were there, then she was probably dead for a while because blowflies (which lay maggots) are attracted to the smell of either rotting flesh or dead bodies.

That means that once in, older people do not want to get out because they themselves need care that will not be there.

I've treated patients with locked-in syndrome (G85.3 icd 10 billing code). It's a horrific condition! The person is completely alert and conscious but, can't give ANY indication of it. My quadriplegic patients were at least able to speak or, make deliberate facial expressions by which to communicate. This woman's horror at watching her body being eaten and rotting away is beyond words. May she rest in peace and Heaven.

This condition is my worst nightmare. I hate to say it but if I ever had a child with this condition I would choose an abortion than to have this child suffer for the entirety of their life. Even if I gave up my entire life to care for this person, what will become of them after I die? Surely no one else would love this person more than I ever could. I’m a caregiver and this hurts my ♥️ heart. I remember working for a client that was a 100 years old and before her passing. I had to change her atleast 13 times a day… But I never once neglected her no matter how much of a task it became. She was very feisty but I wouldn’t trade me being there. Her life expectancy was 6 months and I gave such great care. That she lived 4 extra years! Things like this makes me want to go give people like that. When my dad needed to go and do a nursing home temporarily for rehabilitation and for a stroke we researched and found the top rated nursing home an hour area and that place was still a nightmare. When I went to complain to the Director of the nursing home, we found out there were 72 violations in one year and nothing was being done about it.. they were in the process of "investigating" I happen to know someone who files reports for cases like these and she said most of them get dropped mid investigation.. DISGUSTING we ended up transferring my father to a different nursing home and one was worse than the next. These places are nightmares they look fine on the outside but the things I witnessed were unbelievable

@@merncat3384 I took care of my grandma in her last 7 months of life. I couldn't DREAM of ever causing her discomfort let alone harm! Not everyone is so lucky to have family willing to move in and take care of them. Most of my family still didn't visit any more often than once a month if at all, knowing she couldn't even cook for herself meaning she was going down hill. Didn't this used to be common place to take care of your elderly? It blows my mind. =[

It’s sad and I believe they need stronger requirements and rules to work at a nursing home as well as pay. These people sometimes pay pretty good money only to be treated like literal garbage. I’ve worked at an assisted living facility as a waitress and seeing residents be left alone or forgotten on the couch after lunch or dinner was sad. My mother worked there as well and quit because of how rude her co-workers were. These people require special attention and I’m sad we can’t do even that. Is it that hard to care?

If you don’t have the nerve to take care of a disabled person, then at the very least put them in nursing home that will. Goddamn do not leave them to rot in place. That’s not only inhumane, but it’s disgusting. Her bedsores were already rotting and you can smell that I don’t understand how you can be so far gone as a caretaker, as a parent to not do something about that.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether she can leave her home or not🤦🏾‍♀️ More importantly, are you really that whackadoodle nuts with government conspiracy theory insanity than you think those were the only options available-torture or private facility care? And even if they were, that the criminal torture route was preferable to having “the government” take care of her? Anything, literally anything, would have been better than what this poor woman was subjected to for at least the last 12 years, likely her entire life.
