Can we talk about how underrated Nas's choruses are?? Nas could've easily took the lazy route like Eminem and put female singers on his hooks. But he mastered the choruses himself. The Nas's 3rd prime is hip hop in its purest form. I'm not listening to anything since 2021, he is in my constant rotation. The grand finale was perfect.

Yeah Eminem loves putting b level singers who sound like who you actually want on there. What's up wit that 😂

I've been saying this for many years. When it comes to rapping hooks (no singing) Nas might be the best ever. Definitely in the top 3 for me. 6 albums in 3 years and there might be two or three songs in those 6 albums where he didn't do the chorus. Ridiculous!

Are people still claiming Nas‘ discography isn‘t GOATed? He had three primes: 1. illmatic, IWW, I am 2. lost tapes, stillmatic, god‘s son 3. KD series, Magic series

That’s wild cause if you look at what you listed as his second prime, it’s immediately after his first prime. The only thing in between is Nastradamus. Which was a rushed album because of I Am getting bootlegged so had I Am came out who knows how long his first run would’ve been. And maybe Jay doesn’t have ammo for the one hot album every 10 year average point had the original I Am came out. I hope Steve Stout finishes the I Am documentary that Nip started.

At 50, Nas has perfected the art of saying less but way more meaningful bars, on way more digestible beats. Magic3 got the soul sampling of KD2&3 and the Mystical sounds of MichaelQuincy and Motion. Every song until PYG, is Nas&Hit flexing their powers. From BOTE pt1, Nas starts a Masterclass he gave on Store Run,Reminisce,The Cure,Count me in, Once a Man… How to rhyme conversations or How to speak while rhyming. Thats the highest form of this beautiful Art, we call Rap. AOTY.

KD3 - Classic Magic 3 - Clasic Magic - Classic IWW - Classic Stillmatic - Classic LT1 - Classic LIG - Classic (1st Grownman Hip-Hop Album, which J tried to emulate with 4:44) KD2 - Classic Magic 2 - Classic GS - Classic DR - Classic (Unlike any other Hip-Hop album with Africa Vibes) KD1 - Fantastic Album Untitled - Is a very good album, has aged well & will stand the test of time due to its content. HHID - Good album, has aged well I Am - Good album, has aged well, original version would have been Classic if not for sabotage by Record Label & Leaking it. LT2 - Good, some very good highs, but more lows SD - Good, it would have been very good if just 1 album instead of 2LP has aged well. Nasir - Feels rushed, with 1-2 Excellent tracks. Nastradamus - OK, the highs are special, which would have been on I Am, but too many lows for me, but has aged well.

Magic 3 to me was an album of "B" sides. If you're old enough, you remember the thing back in the day was seeing what was on the other side of the radio release. The equivalent is an album cut as opposed to the single released. I love it. I rarely play lead singles. The album cuts or "B" sides is the meat of an album. I like Magic 3 for that reason. Nothing "popular " about it. Just grime. I like it.

Quality > quantity. These albums are aight and I give the overall run a 7/10 but these comparisons are INSANE. Did Jay ever drop 6 albums without at least having a classic or hit record on them? You see how that works out?

The problem with people’s mentality on Nas is that when you’re an emcee who is this good with so much impact on hip hop, everyone has ownership in Nas as a property. They want to own Nas because it inspires so many memories and they don’t want the artist to grow beyond that. It’s seriously selfish AF and thank God Nas has stopped listening to those kinds of fans.

Finally he's done with his boy doing all these albums.. now he needs to do that album with premier I heard about. All the true fans want that to happen. These albums with hit boy were decent but a premier/Nas album will be next level

No it won't. It will disappoint. Nas and Hitboy have studio chemistry and a relationship that helps them bring out the best in each other. Preemo doesn't have the range that Hitboy has.
