Sorry, guys. We thought it was the bathroom she died in because that's what multiple people were saying prior to us filming. We were incorrect. It wasn't that big of a deal though and it's weird that the video's been up for hours and y'all are still leaving the same comment as if you're the first to drop that gem. We get it. But yes, I still personally think it's tacky to reference that sort of thing. If you disagree, that's totally fine. Still a dope album.
@ilovecody75146 жыл бұрын
I was going to bring that up too, but I thought it over and thought it wasn't a big deal to mention and you'd guys would realize anyways. I for one see why people would be offended, but it didn't shock me or make me feel some type of way really. But that's just me and I realize that 100 percent.

He changed the name to Daytona because he felt that it didnt represent King Push. The bathroom is neither from when nor where she died. Houston died in a hotel bathroom in 2012. The picture is her personal bathroom in 2006

Hard Piano's transition also stuck out to me. The first tracklist we saw was 8 tracks and had another song before Hard Piano so that's probably why the transition wasn't as good, it was meant to transition into another track (Kanye probably tried to fix it but didn't nail it)

Just want to clarify to the viewers that the album cover is from her bathroom taken in 2006. Witney Houston died in 2012 so this isn’t the picture of her death scene. You could still argue that it’s in poor taste but it’s a big detail that should be considered when taking about it.

5:27 I 100% agree with Kinge. One of Kanye's more underrated abilities is that he can tailor his sound (or find a sound if he, himself, can't do it) to fit whichever artist he's working with perfectly no matter what he's doing for himself. Y'all seem to have forgotten that Pusha's My Name Is My Name came out he same year as Yeezus. Or that Common's Finding Forever came out the same year as Graduation.

Y'all got real in your feelings about the album cover and no her body is not off to the side. It's actually a good choice, it fits with the honesty of the album. That's the honest depiction of drug use, not some clean hotel bathroom with a single gold razor on the marble sink and a neat line of blow with a model bent over backwards in some modern attempt at chiaroscuro that a rapper like Drake would and has used on several EPs, singles, and various promotional material.

dunno if y'all will read this, but the album cover is perfect for this album. It perfectly juxtaposes everything that Pusha T raps about on the project. While his subject matter glorifies his coke dealing days and he portrays himself as Tony Montana, the Whitney Houston bathroom paints the negative side to his dealings. He glamorises the dealer lifestyle, while the cover shows the buyer's perspective, a life falling into chaos due to drugs. It also brought a bit of media attention to the album, and the price was hefty I won't deny that, but I can't see a better cover art for this project.

I want to touch on the cover art a little bit. the cover isn't actually from the bathroom when Whitney died, it's the cover of a hotel bathroom around 06 I believe when her addiction was at its worst. What's interesting is her family are the people who sold the photo to (I think ) TMZ and then Ye bought the photo from them.But love You guys..Been rocking with you since 2011.Great Review!
