I've recently injured myself due to this exact thing! Now I pull myself into the bar, engage, and pull the slack out of the bar before executing. Getting as tight as possible is key to good execution. Great advice Mr. Duffin!

There are two things I might look on differently. Rackpulls helped my lockout and the chain setup only works for "deficit" if you have a deadlift bar.. which isn't the case for IPF lifters (or IPF gyms) Other than that - the combination of setup tipps from Chris and assistance exercises/belt position of George Leeman helped my deadlift extremely!

Love the video, the 5 cues are just perfect but Chris, you said that when the weight will get heavier, the bar will bend. Only if it's a deadlift bar. On a stiff bar ,even with 600lbs+ on, the bar won"t bend if so just slightly.Then on a stiffy the position of the hips is changing, they have to be higher, right ? Hope you will answer, I'd really liked to know your take on this Cheers !

Antoine Bret once you utilize all that slack, even on a stiff bar you can make up some pretty damn good positioning. high hips, but close to bar

Is it normal to feel like your head is about to explode when bracing you abdominals? and also, do you hold your breath throughout the lift or do you exhale a little bit as you pull?

Some people create too much pressure when bracing, this can lead to pressure headaches. If you get these then you're gonna have to adjust your bracing strategy and might need to let out a little air to ease off the pressure. One thing I find helps is bracing with your mouth open a little as it makes me feel more like I'm pushing pressure down into my core than into my head.

creating intra abdominal pressure will help you get that stability in your core to brace your low back tight. (valsalva maneuver ) It's not recommended for some if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. due to the pressure in the chest area. consult your Dr if have health issues and lift safe peeps. Get those PRs!
