Appreciate the video and hope it gets lots of people deadlifting at home. But its impossible to use a heavy enough band without some grip support. You will need at the minimum gloves but will need straps or ideally Clench fitness makes band handle which will work.

Yes it's not a perfect substitute, and doing heavy singles with a band isn't the same feel as pulling a barbell with several hundred pounds. Just trying to show that you can still get pretty strong at home/with the right bands and that they can be a nice addition.

yes one of the drawbacks is that if the band isn't thick enough it can dig into your palms a bit. If you look back at the first video on this channel I show how you can add a Fat Grip to make it more comfortable on your hand and challenge your grip (if the band is thin enough). Since that was over a year ago now there are other manufactures that also make adaptive grips/handles for bands
