Absolutely loved the show. Had no idea it had even done so poorly. I knew there were a lot less episodes than The Real Ghostbusters, but it seemed like shows in the late 90s in general didn't have as many episodes as when I was little.

Yeah i had no idea either and i grew up watching the show when it used to be a saturday morning cartoon on upn i believe either that or the spot and later on toon disney The 90s truely was a time to grow up as a kid in terms of television its not known as the golden age of tv cartoons for nothing and hasnt been replicated since to this day and its a crying shame and it really came to an end in 2009 and then we only get those few gems that stand out among a pile of garbage like regular show and adventure time

I love this show, really excited when it debuted in the 90s. Yes it was a bit dark for a kids show, but most cartoon in the 90s were dark and a bit more grown up. Point is I loved it and dressed up as Eduardo for Halloween.

I loved this show. I liked how it was a lot darker than Ghostbusters.

It combine 2 movies, hellraiser and in the mouth of madness. The creatures are illustrations of the cenobites from hellraiser. The concept of what's written becomes reality is from in the mouth of madness, where the author has been ordered and given the power by a lovecraftian entity to make it all real. The lovecraftian entity tells him what to write to make it a reality.

There were minor technical issues with the show, but it deserves a lot more praise than it gets I wouldn't say this is the best episode of the series, but that's a matter of taste

You missed the reference with the author writing reality In The Mouth of Madness. This was really quite the horror mash for supposedly children's animation

Theres definite ties to "in the mouth of madness" here. You have an author forced to write these monsters from another world/dimension into existence. Theres suddard caine being a stephen king analogue (even though hes more lovecraft) and then, here, you have the rl stine analogue.

I didn't know it was canceled. I thought it just ended after 40 episodes because the show's story arc was only good for 40 episodes since it did end with the episode where the Original Ghostbusters reunite with Egon and work with the Extreme Ghostbusters.

How about ghost Corp actually release the show on DVD to north America. I haven't seen all the episodes yet myself. I don't know if Extreme Ghostbusters was even aired in the US during its original run. Back in the 90s I didn't know it even existed.

Yeah, with this year being the 25th anniversary now is a good a time as any to release Extreme Ghostbusters on DVD. Back in 1997, the show did on television in the USA sadly it was stuck in a bad time slot. Had it aired on Saturday Mornings instead of weekdays before children went to school, it would have stood a chance at running longer.

It was released in the states, they played a block of kids sci-fi cartoons on Syfy channel and I recorded as many as i could back in the day

Nice episode! ✌👻🚫 As a fan and lover of the franchise, I also followed with passion the episodes of Extreme Ghostbusters in that era! They broadcast them in the morning before school, so I had one more reason to get up and have breakfast right away! 😁 Even the final theme! What a restlessness it made... 😨 On Christmas of that year I received as a gift the Ecto 1 of that series and the character "Eduardo"! Good memories... 😌🥲
