I’m seeing some criticism here because a lot is put in the same tier and I just want to point out that A) The game is VERY well balanced compared to other games B) There is still power levels left to right within each tier so there is no point in putting something in a lower tier just for the sake of it and C) Once again it is all subjective based on observation. I am not trying to tell you what is right and wrong, nor am I claiming to know more than you, I am just trying to create content while educating people, that’s all that matters to me:) Keep the discussions civil please 🙏

This is some peoples first experience with a valve game and their general godlike balancing. It's why games like Dota have larger pool of their heroes used for pro tournaments while league has like 12-15 picks and everything else is considered trash

I Just don't understand the point of an A to D tierlist which B should be mid if almost everything is in the S and A tier. If every ult is balanced then everything should be around B (with a little or A and C). If everything is in S and A it means everything is better than everything, which make absolutely no sense.

Spot on as always but unfortunately since the hotfix on Ivy today, just like Smeefu said, she is in C tier now and just bad. Her ult was her baby in doing massive AOE, but now everything having to be line of sight makes it almost useless because you can also hear her from miles away. The weapon nerves make her weapon even worse than it was before and just living of spirit together with her horrible laning unfortunately pits Ivy in the bottom section now, funny that you and Smeefu released your tierlists almost simultaneously but he hours after the hotfix, otherwise he would've put her in A too. But unfortunately she is done now. And not sure if you're basing this on tournament play or solo Q or a bit both, but if it comes to scrims and tourney, Infernus is actually at the very top now, he is a guaranteed ban or first pick consistently now, and ofcourse my beloved lady geist is also in the complete gutter, the higher mmr I play the more you realize how bad she is compared to everyone else, and its heartbreaking

Absolutely agree about Dynamo and Haze. Like my god. Played two matches with a couple buddies last night. First as Dynamo and then Haze. With Dynamo and my buddy playing as Bebop it kinda went, "They're all together pushing Green. You got ult? Yup." He used Majestic Leap, and I jumped in off the line. Both ult at the same time. Caught four of them. Literally changed the entire game. With Haze, I stood on top of a building like Batman. Smoke bomb maxxed is a minute long. Just called out where enemy heroes were and when they were fighting just below me, jumped down, hit Unstoppable and Silencer to Ult and uh yeah that was it. I know a lot of people have this experience, but damn it's amazing to see and be a part of.

@AverageJonas Bro let me tell you. I need to record some stuff because we have so much fun. One of my iconic lines when flabbergasted that Seven was somehow still alive: "How not you dead?!?" Or the regular John McClane: "Come here motherf**er! I'll kill you!"...but then I lack plot armor. I'm not the best player, and I'm okay with that (more of a Madden/Sea of Thieves type). That's means I get to have fun with the comments and say (in two messages), "Dear Lash, thank you for allowing me the honor of killing you. RIP to a true king." Idk man it's just fun.

My only problem with Dynamo ult is that it is very difficult to get more than one person in it. It's still basically a guaranteed kill if your allies are around, but you need help or luck to get multiple people in it. It's definitely a bit of a skill issue as well though.

Dynamo ult cancels infernus ult if you queue it up beforehand... it does work on Mo & Krill ult or wraith etc but Dynamo cancels everything

I've been thinking for a while now that Vindicta's ult has potential one of the most busted, purely for the fact that it can really skew the soul economy of a game in crazy ways in addition to being an insanely strong execute. In League (I know these are very different games, but still), very few champions have abilities that can generate gold like this, being Twisted Fate, Gangplank, and Draven. This is balanced with the fact that they also only gain gold for themselves instead of their entire team, while not being a game changing amount but as a way to gain slight leads in item spikes over the game (Draven is a bit different since he can get a shit ton if he kills someone, but he needs to stack his passive bounty over time and there is a punish mechanic so he loses stacks when he dies). Vindicta's kill with her ult not only gives her a pretty significant amount of souls right from the start, but also shares the bounty with teammates. Not to mention in this game that souls = gold AND exp. In the hands of the right team, focusing strategy purely around her ult can make games feel really oppressive, and it also just feels like a different game macro wise when playing against it. I'm curious to see how they continue to balance around this, and if it will actually start to be a problem later..

As someone who has played nearly 300 games of Mcginnis I can categorically say that her ulti largely depends on the build you are on. On gun build it's F tier garbage that you'll never use. On spirit build it's a team wiper. Esp when you have stuff like mystic slow. Yes, it has close range limits but spirit ginnus uses the ulti in a committed team fight. With items like fleet foot you can also negate some of the movement issues. It does a LOT of damage, for a long time. If you're sat back throwing turrets and heals forward to the team and a big teamfight is going on your arti barrage can absolutely smash. Also. It can be used defensively to save team mates from heros with big stick potential like Abrams or Warden, by constantly slowing them down with the ulti your team mate has a much better chance of getting going. Mcginnus is definitely a strong splitpusher who can even without a big lead, pull out strong 1-2 potential. While ahead I've had many situations where I've been 1v5 and taken 2 maybe even 3 with me in spirit build. Basically drop turrets asap, drop your heal, fire your spirit resist shredder bullets, constantly dodge and dance around your turrets, place your wall to split the enemy team to let you focus one or two targets. Honestly having TREMENDOUS fun with Mcginnus.

I think in a coordinated game, it would be easier to not get caught by Lash ult though especially with the loud dings. It instantly can signify everyone to split out to minimize players caught or pop things like warp stone or etheshift to escape the line of sight, comparsd to like dynamos who's ult is instant

The point of the tier list is to visually represent the power of the characters ult and slaping over 2/3rds of the cast is A or S tier fails that objective, regardless of if theyre in order or not. It should look like a bell curve regardless of balance. If you have a hard time determining the cut off for tiers, maybe try giving them a value on a scale of 1-10 with high ranks like dynamo ult being a 9 and weak ults like warden being a 3.5.

For Vindicta, it's a hilariously strong ult but the downside is that it's exactly like an AWP. Literally the balance for this is entirely dependent on the user. You can have God Vindicta player or a PTSD Vidicta player, there is no in-between lol

If you think Warden ulti is bad, you should see his other abilities... I swear, everything he does has 2 seconds delay before it does anything including his gun bullets. For the same reason, I would put Pocket ulti lower. I think pocket ulti is by far the worst part of his kit.

Haze ult is nerfed very hard after enemies started seeing your range. They basically stand 1 meter away from the max range and shoot you. In the past everyone was running away as far as they can. This is not dota when you have blink dagger. You can't just blink into 5 players and silence everyone. I played Haze a lot before the patch, and now I am feeling pretty useless.

I had a match yesterday where my team was 50k behind the enemy team, then like a game deciding tf strike it was all 6v6 the was a dynamo ult than graved me and my seven but bc the focuz the seven I was able to pop affliction than hit all 6(I had the kevlar built so basically my ult was hitting for almost 90 per tic) this totally flip the game so yeah 100% you need sort of cleanse vs pocket cuz it is a decisive ult

i do agree with this take. infernus ult may have niche uses, but there are several uses and all do a pretty good job of filling out the gaps in the rest of his kit. it’s a CC, can be use defensively or offensively, helps in close quarters fights and is an AOE stun. even it people kite/dodge it, it still is a big threat and puts out a lot of pressure

Paradox ult is basically Bebops hook but worse in every aspect, her ability damage is negative, her weapon damage is non existent. Perfect damage combo can't kill anyone in this game. In team fights she is useless because her wall just slows projectiles, she kills herself with ult unless warpstone, carabine is just one bullet with laughably brief stun. Yeah, a very strong A tier ladies and gentlemen.

I think the letter is bad for her, but ricochet+ lucky shot+leech + inhibitor or a few actives like silencer/unstoppable/vampiric burst are more than enough to give her a "press 4 to win" playstyle lmao. But its still hard to know when to ult at the right time, the nerf did noticeably reduce her ults effectiveness which make items like these a requirement

Haze ult is still insane if you let it go unchecked. As a Lash main, if the enemy Haze is fed and going crazy I’ll save my ult to counter hers. Honestly though she can still kill someone while Lashes ult is channeling

Haze is the easiest character to find value with. As long as you aren't massively behind and you have basic game sense she's one of the best characters

Or for also killing people who aren’t using active items. It’s not good for mid boss securing as it lacks CC. it’s just a goofy ult. Your entire ult can be canceled by a roof or a bridge.

My late game builds if I ult with McGinnis I'm immortal with the turret lifesteal and the ult life steal. And it chunks people. It cools down very quickly too. Great for defense and can swing team fights

It can be used defensively to negate wraith ult for example or can be popped before getting paradox swapped. I just think it he’s more value than some of the other ones. It’s not a good ult like lash or kelvin. But the fact alone it’s CC makes it more impactful than some of the other ones.
