We experience power outages 3-4 times a year, lasting a maximum of 3 days, and the generator is very useful for our family during these times
@MikeB-m8xАй бұрын
I turn on my generator inside the garage when the power goes out. I open the garage doors and the side door as well. I think it's safe for me.
@Peek-a-LakeАй бұрын
It’s not safe, please don’t do this mistake

Fire is also a concern.

Agreed, the garage has a lot of inflatable items

Are you afraid of your generator getting wet or something? Hope you have life insurance
@mynewusaАй бұрын
@@ryanespinoza7297I feel afraid to start my generator because it's so loud, and we often lose power during heavy rain, so it's never comfortable.
@tomasfinkelmanАй бұрын
Should we ground the generator before starting it?
@Peek-a-LakeАй бұрын
We never ground our generator while using it. According to the manual, it is recommended to ground all generators and inverters for additional safety, but it is not mandatory.

Generator has a lot of benefits, but at the same extremely dangerous :(

Thank you for these tips! I have a generator, and sometimes I fill it up, and then it runs, but I never think about how dangerous it is!

I'm glad you found the video helpful!

Suicide cords are dangerous because they have exposed live contacts on the plug (male). You proceed to show what you said not to do, as in plug into an outlet, but should explain this outlet is for generator backfeeding to the main panel, and the plug has a female non exposed end.
@Peek-a-LakeАй бұрын
I'm glad you pointed that out! I'll make sure to explain this more clearly in future videos.
