I gotta call you out here. The dentist who shot the lion was not a poacher- he paid a literal boat load of money for a safari hunt. The entirety of that money was used to build infrastructure for the surrounding buildings and the meat from the lion was given to them to feed the people.

Non-poacher big game hunters tend to be super into conversation of wildlife. You can't hunt more big game if you damage breeding populations. The problems come from poaching to export and psychopaths with money wanting to kill something "dangerous"

And jimmy kimmel goes on his show and sheds tears for a lion half a world away and the whole world just went with the narrative that the dentist was a heartless monster. The absurdity of it all. Thats essentially the equivalent of deer hunters being vilified for… killing deer. During deer season. And they had hunting licenses and deer tags and were completely legally clear to hunt the deer.

Funnily enough, the safest places in New York were the bases of the old guard Irish mob. It was so damn safe, you could leave your doors unlocked at night in the MIDDLE OF THE CITY. Keep in mind, this was before the younger generation of the mobsters took charge. This was like the dad from Scarface who lived by a goddamn strict code and didn't take the really bad shit like heroin, if I remember the plot correctly. My point is they had that level of class. They were criminals, but they were damn classy criminals. They were as strict of a Catholic as they could be too (while still being criminals), if I remember correctly. My facts are a little fuzzy, so feel free to refute me.

This is not how precedent works. Lower courts cannot set precedent it gets set by appeals courts and higher and only effects the courts under said court.
