Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. Disney didn't "allow" anything, this movie was made by Fox, years before they were bought by Disney (in fact, Deadpool 2 was also made and released before Fox was bought out)

So Deadpool's canon story does include him getting cancer, and him getting an experimental treatment that granted him hyper regeneration similar to that of Wolverine, unfortunately, his Cancer cells got the regeneration as well, and immediately spread EEEEEVERYWHERE! That's what gave him his 4th Wall Breaking ability. His brain is RIDDLED with cancer, and he's gone so insane he realizes he's a comic book character. That's why his skin is so wrecked, as well. Edit: SAX MACHINE! I'M DYING! XD

She wasn't a 'working girl'... in case you didn't catch it, they were both BS'ing like crazy when they first met. From the jokes about her working for Yogurtland rewards cards, to his time running out (when it obviously wasn't), to the battle over who had a worse life/past. It was all them just sizing each other up.

It's also very common for women working in strip clubs to prostitute on the side. So the fact that she's working as a server in a strip club towards the end of the movie, doesn't necessarily mean that she stopped hookin'
