Very possible to do. If Slade was aware of his sword he could very easily have stolen it from him after forcing him to attempt to use it. But he wasn't aware of the carbonadium's properties and so died to it before learning of it's power. Really any skilled combatant could do this if Wade had any reason to draw it, if they were aware about what it could do.

But hey, as long as you give your family members care and honor, they will still see you as part of their family. My father was at odds with his parents for most of my life. His father died while he was also in the hospital, getting cancer cut out of his ass. Imagine the uncoolness, seeing my dad in post-op, dealing with the death of a great man I never knew. Ideal send-offs only exist in movies, but life has twisted me to the point I cry more over fictional chrs than blood relatives. Bad Religion song "All There Is" expresses it well enough. "If pigs could fly, surely so could I, but my divinity is caught between the colors of a butterfly...And everything is dearly missed, blood relation and bricks...Add it up, extract a lesson...Tell me can that be all there is?"
