So just a little info. Gambit is a cajun character in the Xmen universe. They were teasing a Gambit movie for years with Channing Tatum and it never took off. Tatum was gutted over it because he's a gambit fan. This was their way of giving old Tatum a shot at being Gambit.

Chris Evans denied the role first but accepted it after getting the script by ryan personaly and only accepted if he could say this line and it has to be kept in the movie. Evans learned the line completly and didnt needed to reread it again, but you can see Hugh and Chris barely kept a straight face. So in the scene with Happy in the beginning, I believe everything has two meanings. Deadpool asks if the big guy will be around. In universe the big guy is Tony, but in a meta sense its Kevin Fiege. Happy Hogan isnt just Happy, hes John Favreau who is a big deal with Marvel studios but not the "big guy". So when Happy says he is the guy, it's more about studio hierarchy then anything. Deadpool wants to join the Avengers, but really, Ryan Reynolds wants to join the MCU. He gets turned down for 6 six years and Deadpool just does nothing until Marvel finally comes a knocking. But Disney of course has to destroy the Fox universe in the process. This movie is meta af.

Some answers: He goes to 616 which is the MCU universe. Him with his family, is HIS universe. Red Haired guy is Shatterstar, he did go back and save everyone from dying. Logan in the Comics is like 5'2" to 5'4" I think. Although the one they used in this movie was actually 4'11" All the instances of Wolverine are from various iconic comics, the one with him on the giant X is a famous cover in the comics, not that I've read it. "Second act of Musicman" is a dig at Huge Jackman himself, as he's done some musicals, and he's....meh. The fire guy is Pyro from X-men, he's gotten older. Toad was there too. Most of the group is various cameos. Juggernaught is NOT the one from the X-men movies, but it is the guy who played "Blue Shirt Dude" in Free Guy.

So stoked for this one my dudes! This was one of the absolute best theater experience I’ve ever had! Especially because I sequestered myself away for freaking months prior so the “surprises” were legitimately surprising ffs! Best one for me was Blade and Gambit…i absolutely lost my mind with those! Gambit has always been my favorite X-men character so it was awesome and goddamn Channing just nailed EVERYTHING, especially the accent! I’m so happy that they didn’t dull it down whatsoever!
