I think the idea is that they're so horrific looking that no mortal can possibly even come close to recreating their likeness out of the shear madness that they experiencecupon glimpsing at their beings, not even the Transcended Ones.

@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639I think you wouldn’t even be able to comprehend them! It’s not that they’re horrific, it’s just our/the Saurians literally would not be able to understand them because they’re Beyond us. That’s the point of cosmic horror, really.

The “corruption” at the end with the Great Elder Ones section was so fun! Especially since I already got the vibes that they were already explained as much as you wanted them to be during the Transcended Ones’ section. It really leans into that cosmic insanity that can come from straying too far down the path of knowledge. Sure, you could _maybe_ study the Transcended and get out alive, but it is very difficult and dangerous to do so. The Great Elder Ones, though? Nuh-uh. Don’t even try. The trascended ones are a great solution to one of the biggest problems with cosmic horror. A detail many probably missed is that when the Bluesong captain's eyes are gold, he's not speaking for himself; it's the blinded, silenced Shaman who is speaking through him via his magic. This bit of trivia is especially chilling at the end of the video; if the insane cult leader who has sown his own eyes and mouth shut in a sign of devotion is telling you that _"this is something even I wouldn't mess with"_ then it's a profound indicator as to just how horrific the Eldar Things are.

My oldest DnD campaign I had a player who was a lizardfolk but specifically a "saurian," that was a tyrannosaurus folk. We're talking 2013. It never came up but his backstory had a land of dinosaur folk and corrupted magics that meant his exile. Years later, we're going to do a revamp of that game to bring back old characters and the player and I constantly reference your series as a potential member of the kindred of the tusk. What wonderful lore you've created!

I love how much this kinda relates to the Halo games. The kindred = Banished, their wild and honourable style of fighting that battles against the advanced and proud Covenant/BlueSong The BlueSong = The covenant, a group of warriors that are incredibly advanced and civilised and hunt the secrets of a long dead civilisation. The fell = The flood, both are remnants of an extinct and extremely powerful civilisation before being turned into mindless zombie like creatures. The Artic Saurian = The forerunners, a race of old and proud people who are now almost extinct with the exception of a few that now hide across the world. I don’t know if this was intentional but I like it.

I am a big fan of cosmic and eldrich horror. One of the things i find in a lot of works is that in an attempt at worldbuilding, they lose the mystery and grandeur that makes the cosmos scary. Dead sound is a great example of building around the unknown and keeping hidden what doesnt need to be said. Even in the lore videos, a lot is up to speculation for us as much as it is for the characters in the world. We know only what they know. This has truly been a beautiful work of art, one of the best I have seen, especially for such a big passion project. Someday I hope to contribute to these works on patreon. Thank you.

Jonathan Stroud, in his Bartimaeus series, described *"Great entities of terrible power,"* beings no sane human would want anything to do with. The Forefathers decided to mess around with sorcery just as humans did in the Bartimaeus series, and the pterosaurs attracted such an entity... it could NOT have been pretty. And what got left behind were Plaguebringers, walking clouds of disease sickening everything they pass through, tied to evil gods of chaos and destruction. The Transcended were like Lovecraftian Great Old Ones. The Great Elder Ones of Sauria are like the Outer Gods of Lovecraft. When it comes to lore, this is easily my favorite of the three. This is almost like Sauria was infected by the Thing from the short story "Who Goes There?" (and the famous John Carpenter movie), perhaps the closest Lovecraft's come to the silver screen. Heaven help Sauria if the Fell have the equivalent to the Necronomicon sitting somewhere in Forefather ruins... the Bluesong are going to have to found their version of Miskatonic University pretty fast, or this is going to end up like Hellstar Remina. That ending sequence was truly chilling.

I KNEW IT, the special effects on Taurox seemed like magic, cool to see other races other than the Fell using it 3. The word "Transcended" used to describe a gang of Dinosaurian monsters, reminds me of the Transendrakes from Yugioh, but how these guys work is very interesting, mortals becoming gods is a form of horror I see in games but never seen a name for, "ascended horror" is a fitting name I think 4. I loved hearing about the lore behind the Fell, these guys are FREAKY, and I kuat knew that large abomination that came out of the well in the third episode couldn't have possibly been natural born. I know that the series is over, but lI do hope to see more of this awesome and unique world you've managed to cook up, David!

We NEED another 3 part series. The bluesong and warrior clan need to form an alliance and then realize they need the polar race to guide them in combatting the transcended ones, culminating in an allied war to save sauria from the fell
