This whole video is soooo relatable. I’m hearing and my little sister is deaf and she is the only deaf person in my family. We are also 2 and 1/2 years apart. I totally get being over protective, when we would go out my sister wouldn’t wear her hair up because she didn’t want people to see her cochlear implant and say stuff to her. I would always tell her screw what people think and if they have a problem they can take it up with me. Thank you guys for making this video, I have finally found siblings I can relate to💕

With the thing about missing conversations, I totally agree. My uncle is deaf and my gran had hearing loss. First off, they both talk well and we have very little communication barriers. At Christmas there used to be six of us and about three different conversations because neither of them could hear the conversations completely and it would be quite funny but confused me and my brother a lot. My gran died in January 2018 but for the last few christmases before, I would end up fingerspelling the conversations to my uncle if he didn’t have his hearing aids in. Because of these communication barriers I am now learning sign language and have full signing conversations with my mum. My signing isn’t great but it gets by and I am proud I can understand Holly’s signing, not necessarily Jazzy’s as it’s a little fast of me. ❤️
