Dealer Price Gouging!!!...Belt / Tensioner 2018 Ford Explorer

Finding a squeaky squawk in a 2018 Ford Explorer with a 3.5 liter engine. The customer was charged $279 to diagnose the issue at a local Ford dealership. The estimated cost to replace a belt tensioner and serpentine belt was quoted at $594, bring the total expense to repair this issue to over $800. I fumble through the repair and save the customer a pile of money in the process. Not sure why it was quoted so high!? I included a product link to the item I purchased below. I left in a few fumbles..... The first mistake was saying 'ah that's an easy one' 🤣..... The Ford dealer wanted pert near $900 to perform this job!? 🤔 Happy t was able to save someone from getting hosed! Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁

Believe it or not there is a bigger belt for yours. Check with Advance. Pissed me off too. Mine just broke last week at 52k

I agree....I don't do it often, but when I do it's always accompanied with a few complaints and choice words. This brought back memories of the terrorizing Pontiac Quad 4 engine of the girlfriend's I used to wrench on....Blah
