Dave in all honestly I do have an electric bike and it is awesome...but I have charged the battery to 100 percent over 2 years 300 times or so and it has probably lost a good 30 percent of its range so it is true you never want to charge your ev over 80 percent if you want to preserve your range so take 80 percent of stated range in a car and subtract 20 percent for cold or hot weather and this is your actual range LOL
@DirtyBeemer12 ай бұрын
Depends on the chemistry of the battery. If it’s a LFP battery, you charge to 100%. Not sure what Chevy uses

I believe what’s helping EV sales in New Jersey is that there is no sales tax and what helps Kia and Hyundai is there a longer warranty probably then sales would be much lower without these benefits. And the new thing with the big screens by the auto makers is making drivers more distracted.

Not a fan of incentives, if people want to buy them then they will buy them, shouldn’t be a tax payers responsibility to subsidize them, if the manufacturers want to give rebates that would be a better way to go, I also say this as an electric vehicle fan and I see the benefits in them so not biased in that way

That extra ballooning registration tax sound like to good reason to tell EV to "effe" off.. Sure it takes place of the gas tax, but a smaller gas tax Everytime at the pump could be easier to swallow than one big tax every year... That would help me decide alone. Wish our dealership could get more new vehicles, we have maybe 8 new cars, and just finally got two allocations to order two new Traverses..... Glad to hear that EV buyers in NJ will soon be paying the taxes and fees that all ICE buyers have to pay. Should've been this way from the get go. The $7500 federal tax break should be next on the chopping block. Buy what you want, but no taxpayer funded special treatment!

@ramfan51492 ай бұрын
@@DaveBsellsChevy You won't get any argument from me on that point, but it's a different argument. However, taking money from one taxpayer and handing it over to another because they buy a certain type of car that you like better is simply wrong. BTW, EVs have a significant weight increase over a comparably sized ICE vehicle, thus putting more wear and tear on the same roads and bridges that we all drive on. EV drivers should be taxed for their use just like the ICE gas tax helps pay for infrastructure repairs in every state.

@dennislyon54122 ай бұрын
Hertz Teslas were sold bc the perceived repair cost, and frequency of repairs (body damage) was higher than Hertz initially expected. The cars are too different and too powerful for unfamiliar drivers, causing more frequent bumps, scrapes and likely off road excursions vs typical gas engine cars. That was too expensive for Hertz.
