The dealer charged $200 to do nothing but some extra damage to the wiring. Nice job once again figuring things out and repairing this one at very little cost 😊
@vogel22803 ай бұрын
well, It needs new switchunits, new wiring harness, new sensor/solenoid, new tires, 12 hours of work (incl today's diagnostics). So before a dealer can get this back to the customer, the customer is in for another 2500. And then the unit is still rusty, rough and stil has a dodgy powersteering pump. The unit is only worth saving if you don't count hours and don't have a shop-fee.

@@vogel2280 A dealer isn’t going to try and fix parts, but is going to replace with all new. My first and only Polaris, was a 2010 Ranger 500, purchased off the showroom floor, took it for a test drive around a lot and it died. Should have been my sign to say don't get it, but I got it anyway because the salesman said that it was just because it had been sitting a while… Took it home and for I can't remember how long it was, it would just randomly start running bad till it died. And you would crank it right back up and it would run normal. Took it to the dealer close to 10 times, at the end they told me basically not to bring it back they were done with it. I ended up selling it. They never did fix the problem, and I took it to two different dealers. I would never purchase another Polaris product. But that one seems really nice, and it's really awesome how you got it to work again, if you were the mechanic at the dealership back then you probably could've fixed the Ranger, lol. That bearing is likely rusted solid. The bearing is not serviceable. The Pitman needs changed. It’s quite a job. For your power issue and I’m just starting to watch the video, there’s a circuit breaker on the left side of the vehicle as you sit on it, which requires you to take the front body plastic off to see it. Rather than use a piece of wire to backprobe or to test internal connectors…. You can use a straight pin, but better is drapery pin, bend it straight, all the way down to the point, and make a t-handle from the dull end at the top like a handle…. It makes it a lot easier!!! 2V, congrats! Runs and drives in one day! Engine sounds great! You scored on this one! Dealers would way rather sell a new one than fix an old one! Looks like lazy diagnostics on their part benefitted you!

There comes a time where people need to refuse to purchase new every time and anytime something goes wrong. That's throwing away perfectly good used equipment and being very wasteful while doing it. This is a 2013....there's NO reason why it can't be repaired. Should be able to fix stuff clear back to mid 80s or early 90s without much trouble.

Hey dude, about time you had some good fortune with a project. Now just give me 6 numbers between 1 and 59 for my uk lottery 😂. That was a great faultfinding walk through. Take care and bring us more.

Since I noticed your regularly testing wire, I would invest in a gatorclip back probe leads. I'm a heavy duty diesel tech, they are a life saver, and don't ruin the plug pins. BTW keep up the great work, love your videos.

Excellent video. Fun as hell to watch. Those fuses have tiny holes on the top end that you can probe for continuity without having to jam probe down in between. You might know that already.
