They both went to two HUGE extremes and neither was productive. The divorce wouldn’t be about the dog, or the kid getting bit, those would just be the excuses. The actual issue is that NEITHER of them want to meet in the middle, when it’s so very possible and even easy. The dog needs training, not to be a martyr for their marital issues. THEY are the ones causing all the issues, if they shot the dog they’d just be even more stupid. Too immature to be business owners or parents.

This girl blows my mind... as a fellow horse woman, the mentality is if you can't help the animal, if you're not what the animal needs to progress, you let it move on to a more fitting program/trainer. I understand the "commitment" she describes, horses are not something you take on for a few years and discard, yes. But when the "fit" isn't right, you be responsible and find the correct fit for that horse... They were allowing it to happen over and over again. Why did the hospital not contact CPS after the second bite? They are willfully endangering the life of a child. Why was animal control not called for the repeated attacks on the horses that she was not controlling (tie or pen the darn things while you’re training). The husband is just as culpable. He should have been the hero in his son’s life and left with him.

Ive owned an animal rescue for 17 years. I train horses. WHY are the dogs allowed to be around the horses? ? ( wont even talk about the child) Why aren't they kenneled while she's working? @@ksf1107 that’s a very irresponsible decision as a parent. You can absolutely rehabilitate dogs from aggression, BUT the dog will never be “cured” from it. Dogs like these can be closely watched over and separated from children for YEARS, only for one little thing to happen and that dog attacks and kills a child/animal. Ask any shelter/vet, they will tell you that is usually what always happens with rehabilitated aggressive dogs. I love dogs, but we have to understand the complete deadly liability with dogs that have aggression.

I trained horses for many years and I had Akitas and Anatolian Shepherds on my ranch, all of them rescue dogs. None of them were aggressive to the horses or people like this dog because I trained them. Training began the moment I took possession. Most dogs can be trained, as Cesar demonstrates here. What destroys a dog is allowing it to do whatever it wants to without parameters. The same goes for horses. But the cardinal rule that this woman seemed to not understand is that no animal takes precedence over a child. Period.

it is the owner's fault for owning breeds notorious for their past in fighting and hunting. she did not teach her animals. she does not deserve a dog or a child. but killing a dog due to the owner's ignorance, stupidity, and negligence is never the right option. many "bully" breeds fall victim to people who do NOT understand how to handle powerful dog breeds. it is ALWAYS the owner's fault in this case. dogs should not pay such a high price because they were raised by the wrong person.

As a clinical social worker I'm shocked that this lady is clearly more concerned for her dogs than her own child. I believe CPS needs to be called in NOW before her son gets mauled or killed by one of the dogs and she ends up in jail for "failure to protect" her child. I'm an animal lover myself but there should never be a question when it comes to protecting your child. She's not worthy to be a mother. I hope CPS investigates her. The photos of her son in hospital with dog wounds on his little body should be enough to charge her with child endangerment. A mother's instinct is normally to protect her child. She's got misplaced loyalties that could end up costing her son his life.

Thats funny my late husband paper traned chickens & have them fetch items for him.. he'd had a stroke & was disabled and many orher complex commands. I train my chickens too, I've trained parrots, so a bird is a bird. Chickens are intelligent. I yell "NO , GET DOWN!" if they're up where they shouldn't be.. You know , they immediately jump down , now you say that to a dog & they'll just stare at you in the eye & not move a muscle in outright challenge . I sincerely hope this woman reads ALL of these comments. I am a HUGE animal, but most especially dog lover, and have never been without a GSD my entire life. I do not hesitate to rescue a dog in need. Rehab them and find them forever homes. With that being said, as a mother and now grandmother, I would not hesitate to put a dog down that goes for the throat of a child. We can clearly see that the husband/father has much more sense than his wife, but he is still allowing this threat to exist, so I must also question his own mental stability. My heart goes out to this traumatized little boy. Editing to add....I have now finished watching this video, and I am delighted at the powerful and positive changes. This is an excellent example of how and why Cesar 'Trains' the humans and 'rehabilitates' the dogs. With that being said, I am not convinced that this positive change will continue, based on the fact that I never heard this woman address her willingness to repeatedly put her little boy in jeopardy. The issue for me is the innocent THREE TIMES bitten child! Subsequent to addressing the dog(s) issues leaves her husband and their son with HER issues. "Would you get rid of your child?" she asks, pertaining to her DOG! Here is my question: How do you compare or in this case, displace the child you carried for nine months and brought into this world with your dog? There-in lies the real concern, for me. I'm not advocating shooting the dog or even getting rid of him but uttering that parallel exposes a serious concern for me personally. This is an old episode but the answer is so obvious it's quite scary. "Gunny" is now attacking small children - their small children - and that's game over time. There's no way that a dog who'd attacked my child even once would still be allowed to operate. And to also let them chase beautiful, sensitive animals like horses is awful. Those are prey animals and they're creating excessive hypervigilance by letting those dogs run into the schools like that - it's not fair. The bottom line is that large, quite ridiculously over-bred dog is more important than her son, her horses, other people's horses and also her husband it seems. It's the wife who needs the therapy?

Sometimes it is because situations are not easy to resolve, and pets are not easily sacrificed. If Ceasar believes the dog cannot be saved, he can offer to take the dog, and discuss euthanasia with owners in future if that is required.
