Great video Neil! As someone who had to deal with a lot of racism and homophobia through out his education these are tips I used myself. Never let your bullies see you sweat. Remember, you fierce diva!

honestly, I never had a tough time with my sexuality and bullying. If I did.. I've forgotten them, but the ones that stuck with me aren't about sexuality or my autism. It was my name, from grade school to High School and even a bit beyond... I know I am so much of an adult now in comparison to many youtubers and I have gotten back to using my name especially with my team because its who I am. I am not a fat chipmunk, I am not a toy bear, I am me.

Before I begin, I do not advocate fighting back unless one knows exactly how to do it as a very last option that you cannot get out of. Now....I dealt with my bully in both Junior High and High School, the same bully, and I did so as my last option, and in accordance to instructions of an Army Dad, as in dealing decisively, and to the point...nail him where it hurts the most...I butted my head directly to his groin! I made my point then. The issue was not even anything to do with being gay, as I was not out til 2008 (I am going on 52 in a month); it had much to do with my weight and dress issues. He apologized early last year.

That was probably the best way to get help the bullying. What helped me was that i chose to no longer let guys bully me even if i was small and skinny. Sometimes it was easier to ignore people but when it went to physical abuse and the adults would do nothing i dealt with it and by JR year i had no more bullies.

This video was great :) I haven't had to deal with any bullying due to me being gay but I haven't been going to public school for the past year and I left before I came out. Side note I love your hair and your hoodie in this video. You look great

Hey Neil, thanks for the tips, and the video. That is what I did for the first three and a half years of my secondary school. I ignored my bully. One day, during the middle of the fourth year I ended up getting confronted by this bully for completely ignoring him for all that time. He was literally twice my size as at 14 years old he was already more than 6 feet tall. He cornered me and started yelling at me and calling me names, and I still gave him that indifferent look. Then all of a sudden he punched me square in the chest and all I managed to do was to just stay on my feet and stare at him. When I managed to get my breath back all I just gave him that indifferent look again and that expression that I'm looking at something a bit disgusting and walked away. From then onwards he always kept his distance from me.

Bullying sucks. I was lucky to always be huge and popular enough not to experience it, I've found that most homophobic bullies want to cut that cake. And deep inside they really look up to you for being even a little bit open and they're punishing themselves (through abusing you) for being what they see as cowardly.

An eye for an eye. Take boxing or karate or Taekwondo and beat the royal shit out of them. That's what I did and I never got bullied again. I know I'll get shit for that but I tried the understanding, passive, kind route and it got me thrown down a flight of metal stairs. Stand up, fight back, kick ass. Don't go looking for it but if it gets in your face, never back down.

Good advice. Just fyi, once reported to a teacher/counselor, they are obligated to act.

When I was in the 4th grade (this has nothing to do with sexuality) I was teased and "bullied" constantly by this kid in my class. He called me names and the like and I didn't understand it. I told my mother about it many times, and finally she suggested I ask him if he wanted to come to my house after school or on the weekend. I actually did that, and he responded positively. After that, we became friends. I think he teased me just to get my attention because he wanted to be friends. You never really know. And Neil, I love your vids, but I really don't think that nose ring is behooving to you. It looks silly. Sorry.
