They didn't for the 1.5 years I've had the clam in here, but I've also since this video moved my clams to a separate tank due to mantle bubble issue (see one of my previous posts) so I'm not sure if I feel comfortable re-introduce the clams at this point.

@Stevenliu9 Жыл бұрын
when it comes to fish aggression, yes they will generally fight, and yes acclimation boxes help, larger tanks, and more hiding areas help. But every fish is different so you will always be taking a risk regardless of what others say

Mirrors definitely work to curve aggression.

anyone out there can help me with the aggression of one tang has towards 7 other tangs.All were added to my 300 gallon tank at the same time.The problem is some grew faster than the others and now my clown tang is very aggressive .Even towards my Sohal which are both 7 inches.My tangs are clown, Purple, Sohal, sailfin, Nasal, Black tang, Dori and powder blue Tang .I feed them 3 times a day. I am hoping that once they grow to full size the aggression will stop.They have been with me for over a year now.
@Stevenliu9 Жыл бұрын
Every fish has its own personality. I have a bunch of different tangs and in my base the blue hippo tang is the boss, even kicking larger tangs (naso) butt. I purposefully added the clown tang at a smaller size and as last of the bunch knowing it has a nasty reputation. So far my powder blue is keeping the clown tang in check. If it's not too difficult to do, one thing you can try is to alter the landscape a bit- moving a few pieces of the rock to "reset" the territories. Also, the clown tang is a perpetual grazer- they don't really eat prepared meals as vigorously as others, so just make sure you have enough for this guy to "graze", and if not make sure you add nori/kale leaves to keep it busy and distracted.

@@Stevenliu9 thanks for the info . I did change the landscape but this guy is mean.i hope when the other tangs grow they will fight back

Came across your video and what a beautiful aquarium you have! I have a 175 gallon Red Sea max tank and I have tried to keep anthias they always died on me fairy quickly. One big anthias did live for about three months and died again. How do you keep your so healthy and happy?

Nice video I like the way the sand looks, do you have a calcium reactor I have been watching your videos but I never really notice you talking about it....thanks for sharing!
@Stevenliu92 жыл бұрын
I don't use a calcium reactor, as I don't think the usual sizes can actually keep up with the demand. What I do instead is mix kalkwasser with magnesium into my auto top-off vat and it replenishes all the needs as my water evaporates.

How long has the powder blue and Achilles tang be in your tank and how are they currently doing? Is there any aggression? I have a300 gallon tank and want both tangs. Your thoughts?
@Stevenliu9 Жыл бұрын
The achilles did not make it, though not from powder blue aggression- it was eating well simply couldn’t gain weight as it might have been mishandled during capture/transportation. I wont say they absolutely can’t work out together but you will need luck on your side and lots of hiding spaces. One trick is to do a decent amount of re-scaping to shake up any current established territory

Bro angelfish are not reef safe. How have you kept them ?
@knox79454 ай бұрын
You have to get lucky because each fishes have their own personality. I have an emperor, queen, two flame angels, flameback, and swallowtail and they haven't touched my corals. They will pick here and there, but not to the point where it kills the corals. I have them for two years now. The trick is to feed them constantly. 4-6 times a day

@Stevenliu92 жыл бұрын
Me too, the ban has just lifted so far I don't see any available yet. I think the industry in Hawaii has died in the last few years since the ban, so it may take a while to rebuild the whole chain, from collection to holding and eventually shipping. My guestimate is 3 months minimum until we see substantial quantity offered in retail.

When your angel and trigger get bigger you are going to havissues with them eating your corals. You been a little more rock work for thebfish to hide. You have alot of fish in that tank. But considering it's 500 gallons you should be able to handle the load.

I made this mistake. I introduced a large puffer into my system not really thinking about it and it ate all my LPS and then it died...
@Stevenliu9 Жыл бұрын
I am not so worried for the blue throat trigger, never had trouble with them in reef setting. The lemon peel I have had for nearly 6 years and (knock on wood) no issues, very well fed. The emperor angel is (knock on wood again) thus far behaving well and very well fed. I have seen many other (larger) reef systems with emperor angels that does not touch the corals, so I am hopeful I can enjoy the same success. Wish me the best!

sounds like your system is of good size. They may still quarrel for territory but if you add them add the same time hopefully none is established enough to bully another! please keep us posted of your progress!
