One thing I have learnt with friendship breakups is sometimes we innocently put people on a higher pedestals than they deserve , we elevate their positions in our lives only to realize they are not . They served a season in your life that you have outgrown and now bending backwards to accommodate their capacity turns out to be a source of conflict. All in all, we appreciate the different friends and the part they play wether past or present. Communicate but if its too irreconcillable then let them go .

This episode reminds me of the Netflix series I'm watching "Firefly Lane" of two best friends who are sticking together through thiiiick and thiiiiiin. In this life, you don't need to have soo many friends to feel loved and appreciated. Because you can be surrounded but still feel all alone. Having that one friend you trust and care about is more than enough ❤.

Friendship breakups are tough. The Transitions of outgrowing friends verses having adult conversations with other adults. Breakup between lovers who were friends... it's sad and true. We are really not taught how to deal with this part. Being the middle man/woman of friends who used to be friends. 😢Pris. Let's all go back to 6 or 7 yr old us, who was friendly or friends with everyone ❤. Thank you for another fantastic episode. As an adult - Trust yourself enough to vocalize honest feelings/emotions early enough.

Thank you so much ladies,I have learnt so much today.I can now forgive myself.I blew up my friendship almost a month ago and since then I have had so much guilt in my heart because I was the reason the friendship ended I was so bad in communication. The other party felt like I didn't care about our friendship coz I didn't call as much as they did or even have the time to hang with them and honestly I could agree with her but now I know better and am willing to be a better friend.

Great conversation ladies. I needed this two years ago when I was going through a friendship break up. I was left, via text, as you've said, it was shocking, I had never imagined us as not friends. Looking back, it gave me permission and courage to let go of people/things that I was holding to then, that I didn't need to. Sometimes, it's okay to let go. Especially when your lives are not aligned anymore.

I've had to let go of a friendship that I treasured so much but I felt they were only present because of what I could provide. But my needs were simply too much for them to entertain. Speaking to them about it and they denied everything, and was just deflecting everything I was saying I felt. I have had such a hard time. I had to say I loved them and wish them the best and that that they're so great in many ways but I had to step away for my own mental peace. ❤ I hated that experience. I'm still hesitant to call someone my friend until I see how we handle each other's seasons in life. Sheeeesh! This life is truly the messy in between 😅

This hit close to home.. I lost a very good friend.. One of my best friend actually.. And it was one of the most difficult breakup I have ever had... I wronged her.. And I knew there is no coming back from that.. , she stopped talking to me I wish she did so I could at least explain my self.. So I learned to live without her.. We had a mutual friend that obviously picked her side without knowing the whole story... I wasn't surprised.. I guess I deserved it, .at some point I had to go ask her if we could talk but everything was just cold. From both of them.. When we finally moved back home from abroad.. I reached out I apologize and finally let it go. We are talking now but everything is very weird.. I moved on she did too.. But every now and then she crosses my mind. I wonder where we could have been if I didn't fuck up.. Any ways life goes on.

I really enjoyed this episode. A lot of emotional intelligence to develop and learn sisterhood and friendships. Most of my friendships have been beautiful, some blossomed over time, and some just loosely fizzled out. Good or not so good, there were lessons learned. I strive to be a genuine good friend and be a blessing in friendships. It's nice to close friends, great friends or a great friend and a bestie & confidante. It's an enriching experience, especially in adulthood .# MoreBlessings to great friends🙏🏿🇰🇪♥️💕💕💕

Congrats for 97k .,.🥰 Relationships are tricky,sm1 i saw as a friend suddenly went silent on me.,.when I tried to r reach ,my phone calls were ignored.,.it was so so hurtful to me,..my messages went unanswered....the thing that made me so sad was that I never got to know what the issue was.,. Is still hurts...I also felt/feel disrespected or taken for granted,...then there will always be that "nagging feeling" of uncertainty even in other relationships. She was like a sister to me🥲anyway it is well. Great and much needed conversation.

I have not had a real friendship break-up conversation but i hsve had several friendships end. Gosh it's so painful & i think bse we don't givr them as much importance as love relationships, u go through the mourning stage alone, quietly & wait for it to end then move on.

I let go a friendship that I had for almost a decade. At some point I felt we were so very disconnected and I felt taken for granted. I did it over a text as we were in different cities. I thought about it for quite a longtime before making the decision. They were just so many things that had accumulated over time that I had let slide . I could not bring them all up in the present. so I felt letting go was the best for both of us. I also did not feel I had been a great friend at times .

Hitting the like button before I even watch. Lyd had me in 'I will beg😂...' Anyways I went through a friendship breakup early this year, its sth I didn't anticipate so it was really tough. But all in all, in as much as I missed them I had to respect their decision. Additionally this was like a wake up call that sometimes friendships end due to negligence of one party and that I had to try be mindful and more intentional with my other friendships. Always looking forward to this episodes. I get so enlightened. I'm glad I get to grow with you guys.

This episode is different, I do not know how to break up clearly, seems like a lot of work. I invest in my friendships so much that I did not ever think about breaking up and it is a whole life altogether! We would sit and straighten things out or we could amicably go separate ways, time would fade away all the things (subtle ghosting I guess). Until you guys mentioned that we need to be clear, some people do not understand that is over, I realised this is what I have been challenged with. There is a person that has been disrespecting the friendship and I was over and done but they show up like nothing happened, like burry the hatchet, she does not acknowledge whatever is happening, she is forceful, texts, calls, etc. Thinks if she persists then all will be well and back to normal. I decided to ignore and block them.

@@tmipodcastke A case in point,my bf then was caught cheating by her man and as a form of self defense she told him that I was the one who had connected her to all those other men.So the man told her to choose between him and I and I guess her actions for the next couple of months clearly displayed it.Guy dismantled her Sim cards and she never ever took an effort to give me her new line, she only used to chat me up on her mums line once in a blue moon. I kept pushing hard to see how far she would fight for our friendship but it was all in vain.I used to pay her visits but she had never ever come to mine after that incident. Close to a year, I gave myself enough grace and thought it was wise enough to distance myself from the family since no efforts had been taken to bring us back(from her side definitely) She didn't clear my name so the man would never want to see us as friends ever again. So despite us being human and bound to making mistakes, was I supposed to call for dialogue yet no efforts had been made from her side?

I disagree with breakup at someone's house. I bring ice cream, booze whatever I know they will need after I drop the boom . 💥 then I can leave after the anger of 'leave now '. 😅

This episode got me thinking of a movie I watched, The banshees of Inisherin. One guy was willing to cut his fingers, if his "best friend' talks to him. LOL.

Is it just me or do friendship breakup linger longer than romantic breakups? Maybe its because of mutual friends or that you can't move and start over like you would when you break up with a romantic partner

Frienship break ups really hurt and we seldom talk about it..I had a friendship that ended in 2015 i think i have never healed till date. i miss them i miss who we were together but maybe they were just not meant to be my friend and vise versa. But i wish i could just meet her one more time🥲

Ps the part about not posting on a birthday.. to me, that is a bit childish. I do not post my friends on their birthdays. Equally, they post me on my birthday. It does not mean I love them any less. I respect privacy, and I truly hope that is not a measure of friendship. The thoughtful messages and phone calls matter to me more than a social media post. 🌻🤌
