My mother (who is a speech/language pathologist) taught me that we say, “mmmm” when feeding babies because it encourages the correct oral structure when eating off a spoon. Otherwise babies may tend to leave their mouth open. She also taught me to feed from the side of the spoon to encourage the tongue to stay in the correct place instead of coming forward. 🤗

Hi Laura and Aaron. I would like to thank you for the time, heart and effort you both put in your videos. I have been following you for 6 years now. I started watching your videos for succulent care tips and got hooked. I have learned so much from you. And now making succulent arrangements is my favorite hobby. A few friends and family have asked for tips and tricks to grow succulents. And I have guided them to your channel. I am an Indian 🇮🇳 living in Germany 🇩🇪. Growing succulents outside is quite tricky here but thanks to you, my plants have been doing really well. I specially love how you like to give back to your community. You guys are good people! 👍🏻

Sorry, years ago I worked at a florist and we always took a sharp sewing pin and poked it straight through the stem right underneath the head of the tulip and pulled it back out. This creates a tiny air bubble within the stem, right under the flower head, and stops it from drooping so quickly. Not sure exactly why it works but it seems to. Have a great day!

My battle started last fall. I used BTI. I also used bright yellow paper plates with a light layer of Vaseline spread all over it. Worked well but if just one gnat survived it could produce 300 to 400 more gnats. I recently removed some cuttings I had over wintered under lights and I think I am now gnat free for my spring seedlings!! I didn't pour boiling water over my soil mixture once...NEVER AGAIN! Good luck.

@melissasullivan1658 2 жыл бұрын
@@bettenotap4791 Yep, I only use bottom watering + a strong clip on fan per shelf and and don’t have a gnat problem. The issue is growing the fungus in the first place. I still occasionally have an early issue sowing on top of soil. But for that it’s all about vermiculite - and a strong and steady fan. I’d be so frustrated without my fans!
@seanaames6855
@seanaames6855 2 жыл бұрын
BT breaks the cycle. That's why you have to continue using it for 3-4 weeks. Putting a layer of sand as the top layer is helpful, too. It dries out faster so, the gnats don't lay their eggs there. . . . And of course, using the yellow sticky traps (whether homemade with Vaseline or store bought) is helpful in getting rid of adult gnats so, they can't lay eggs in your soil A multi-pronged attack is probably best.

Are you teaching Samantha Grace simple sign language? What a great idea! Did you teach Benjamin too? Dinner looked delicious.

I really enjoy your cooking segments. It’s great to see what we can use from our garden and the different recipes are great. It cuts the monotony that can happen when you garden. Thanks so much. Making this next.

Laura, you NEED to watch the tv show "Homework" on the Magnolia network. The couple renovates homes but they bought an old school house for their big family and just showed the kitchen renovation, OH MY, it reminds me of you and the dark colors you like and the old items they use in it. I know you said you have plans to do some home renovations. Check it out, if you can. Benjamin is just the sweetest boy and Samatha Grace looked absolutely beautiful on dads shoulders. Look forward to seeing all of your plantings come to show this spring. Thank you.

Lovely mix of things today. So wonderful that Benjamin wants to help and that you allow and encourage him. I enjoy watching him try and get rewarded for his efforts and successes. For example, not every row was straight, but you praised him for the good job he did and just fixed what needed to be fixed with no fuss. It is amazing that not that long ago you were gardening alone (so to speak) and now you have a little boy who walks, talks, digs, plants and waters. He comments on the growth stages of the plantings and really takes in the scent of the hyacinths, offering an informed opinion. Your hearts must be so full. Looking forward to seeing Samantha Grace keep up with her big brother.

Glad to see I'm not the ONLY one who "cleans" their cleaned chicken breast! AARON, PRETTY PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE could we get a ZIP UP HOODIE in the merch shop (topiary style)... preferably with thumb holes (but beggars can't be choosers). Many of us aren't "pull over" type gals.... haha! xoxo
