Thanks for the info. I probably need to take my guitar to a shop. Tried polishing but it's is 90% milky finish. ProbAbly because it was stored in its case in a tropical humid environment.

I have a les Paul that had this problem. Believe it or not, I misted a rag with goo be gone, then water, then a clean dry cloth. Took the haze right out. And left a mirror shine. Didn't harm the nitro at all

That's a bold move. I am glad it worked out.

I have a 2006 cordoba koa classical that has this going on all over it…in waves. I took it out of its case today and was depressing to see. It has always had a strong smell to it, so am wondering if the smell is the finish they used when they made it in Spain, and is NOT nitro?

I wouldn't know for sure but you can solvent test it in a safe place.

I have this on my year-old Martin HD-28. It's a circular whitish thing that first appeared on the body by the neck, and now in the space above the sound hole. It's a weird long ovalish shape. I live in a dessert climate and use a hygrometer with a sound hole humidifier. Never had humidity above 50%. Typically hovers around 40, so I'm not sure how it could be a moisture problem. Now even a little bit is appearing on the wood below the bridge. It's driving me nuts because I can't figure out what to do. Any ideas?

If it's where your skin is touching the finish it is the finish interacting with your skin. That might require more than is shown here.

Hi My old yamaha classical guitar got same but still shining and cloudy in the same time No dirts or oils from my hands could this product solve it ? I saw someone use heat gun to solve same problem on Table lacquer Could this method work with classical Guitars finish ?
@jordangrieve36367 ай бұрын
Dont use a heat gun, think of the glue that holds the guitar together.

@@jordangrieve3636 Ok but what about the heat pad that some luthiers use it with Bridge disassemble ..could that make same problem with under braces like the heat gun or maybe hair dryer
@jordangrieve36367 ай бұрын
@@sagrsalem6340 im nothing more than a beginner guitarist to be honest with you, your best off phoning a guitar tech or a luthier and getting there opinion. By the sound of it a heat pad will heat up to the correct temperature and it will be safe to use for guitars, blowing red hot air at a guitar will not do the wood and glue any good in my opinion.

@@jordangrieve3636 Yes Bro you are right it will be risky to use heat in any way and the best thing is to go to experts .... Thanks A lot for reply

I inherited my uncle's old beater sunburst Les Paul he bought new in like the 1950's (he liked jazz) and it was totally cloudy and sticky. I was gonna go punk and sand it down and just rattle can it, but am gonna try this 1st. If it pans out, my next step is to get some hot modern pickups for it as the old ones seem kinda feeble. Rock on!
