Everyone is complaining. Sick of it. Left and right complaining. You even do the right thing and they still complain. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil, but in modern age, no more oil to go around

Patients should respect the health care professionals. Patients are not entitled to curse, kick, spit, and be rude to us.

@@ckm6407my dad was literally on his deathbed and the doctor refused to help him. Actually he was the reason why my dad got to that point when he overdosed my dad on a steroid months ago and in the end he basically told me to shove it when I asked him some questions. The burden of being more professional in the service industry is placed more on the doctors than the patients.

Do you think that there is something that could be done to change the culture of the customer/patient is always right, not tolerate bad behavior, and make a more positive/supportive working environment?

I honestly don’t think it will change anytime soon. The only way it will change is when nurses start taking a stand against it, and more importantly the administration takes a stand. However, I think at that point it’s so political that nothing will ever get changed

I wrong this giant Error Reflection piece because they said I made a mistake during my clinicals. It was FULL of emotions and I kept blaming my supervisor for not telling me this and that. I slept on it and the next day I edited all of it and chose to take full responsibility. I think I almost made a mistake if I sent it hahaha. It sucks that you cant sleep on it when you're dealing with a patient, you gotta react at that moment, that's bad news for me because I would totally get fired in those situations lol 😂

Really both you and the patient probably share the same complaint. Most of the time hospitals and clinic staff are stretched too thin. In the end, nurses bear the brunt of this problem that they did not create. It’s a systemic problem when money is the priority over patient care. We shouldn’t get better service in a 4 star hotel than when we are in a vulnerable state in th e hospitals. Also, wealthy people get more attention and better care because they have doctors on speed dial. The system is broken. You are not. However, nurses become the front line. Get mad at the administration. The patient is just as victimized as you are being. Take care and best wishes.
