My son had an accident when he was 19 he was not supposed to survive. But he did and is doing things the doctors never thought he would. He recently got married. The possibilities are endless. You have the right mindset. ❤

I totally agree with you. I honestly hate even highlighting what she isnt doing right now because I have so much faith in her future! I mean I’m in touch with reality but I just choose to focus on all the good things. There are plenty of people in the world that will assume the worst and it’s up to us moms to never stop hoping and praying for the best. thank you for telling me your story!!

I’m so glad it helps. It’s so hard to find the words in the moment and even if you have the words it’s very hard to say them out loud. I am able to sit in front of a camera and talk bc I had time to think about my answers but still there is plenty that is too hard to actually say.

Validation might be THE most important type of support you can get from someone. The first time someone gave me clear, strong validation for what I was going through was a huge turning point in my life mentally. I totally agree. At the very least I hope I can give a small glimpse of what our life is like and help people understand and embrace people with disabilities more. But my biggest dream is for our story to inspire some billionaire to fund major research and we find a treatment for STXBP1. Long shot but I’m still going to hope 🙏🏻

My husband was in a motorcycle accident when I was 9 months pregnant and was in the hospital for a month, well past my due date. I would leave his hospital room, go downstairs and cross the parking lot to go to my OBGYN appointments and just cry to my doctor from all of the stress. Our baby is 18 months old now and my husband had his leg amputated 3 months ago secondary to complications from his accident. The postpartum anxiety has been so real! But still, I can’t imagine how scary it must have been to go through everything you did with Lucy after she was born. Worrying about your own baby is a whole different kind of stress. I really look up to you and how you’ve handled this entire thing. You’re a true inspiration
