This is so true. I've been out of full time/permanent work for literally years now. (I won't say how many, it's too embarrassing.) The way I've made it the past few years has been through various friends hiring me to help with housework and child care. You are right, it's been a double win. It's not only helped me financially, but the true blessing for me has been becoming a part of these children's young lives. I am single (NOT by choice) and have no kids. I adore all of these kids as though they were my own.

@@Yesica1993 I feel like we have a similar life experience. I always wanted many children and a healthy strong Christian family. I was a nanny for years while I studied at University. In 2000 I was engaged to be married but the man was abusing me, physically, mentally and sexually. I never wanted to give my heart to any man again so I'm 41 and single. I was a primary school teacher and a foster Mum. Nine years ago when I was 32 my doctors gave me two years to live (I've been sick since I was a child but the complications that came from having all but 1 metre of my intestine removed were extensive). So I had to stop working and fostering which was soul destroying. My Nephew had just been born in New Zealand where we are from but they moved back to England when he was 9 months old. The thought of never seeing my precious nephew again was heart wrenching. It made be force feed myself and learn how to cope with excessive pain etc. I hope that you find an amazing man who wants children with you and you get to fulfill your dreams. Always remember how amazing you are. God bless you and Merry Christmas. XOXOX

I am a 60 year old mom of zero, although my husband has 2 adult children and a 5 year old grandson. Going through my adult years watching my siblings have kids, I had to realize we needed to accept as many children as God would give us, even if that meant none. That said, I find you a wonderful encouragement, and I watch for your videos. In a previous comment on an earlier video, I committed to praying for you and your family and your church, every day. I am a born again Christian for about 45 years, and I have a personal ministry of prayer for homeschool children. I have about 80 on my list including all 10 of yours. I wanted to encourage you today. I live a life of trying to be content in whatsoever state I am in. That helps me with my stress. God bless you!

Your Dealing With Stress post today affected me more than any of your many previous posts -- and I've loved them all! Do more of these kind of talks, Sarah. It was a sermon without being a sermon. You go girl!!! I’m 51 4’11 and full of boredom now. I raised 3 biological children and 3 of there friends that I fed and never went back to there own home. They are all grown now some with families of there own. I lived the chaos!! Like you I function really well with the busyness of life and have much patients. I now feel stressed because I don’t have the feeling of usefulness in my life. Raising, sharing life and loving children is what my calling has been my whole life. I was raised in a foster home as a young teenager after my mother died, didn’t know my father. So now I feel the calling to become a foster to adopt parent and my 22 yr old son wants to do it with me. Some say I’m crazy, but I truly feel that God is talking to me to do it. There are so many children in need of a loving family to grow into happy people. Watching your channel shows a great model for me to learn from in my journey to building a new large family. Thank you for sharing. Much love and respect. From far Northern California Kerry Jane

While you spoke very generally about stress I am pretty sure that almost every single person who watched this video took something and it hit home for them. That is completely the case for me in multiple areas being a full time working mom of 1 with another one on the way in 7 weeks. I am very stressed about my husband being gone so much for his job (police officer working nights) but I know this is a temporary stress. We will work through this. I am blessed with his support and a great marriage that I think I really can take that for granted of what we do have. While I am overwhelmed after I get home from work taking care of our children and home by myself I am grateful I have these problems. I am so grateful I have a home to clean and a beautiful, crazy, healthy toddler to care for that occasionally drives me nuts LOL. Thank you Sarah. These words are what my heart needed. Thank you for not putting this off any longer, it was exactly what I needed.

Absolutely Sarah. I can relate to so much you have talked about. I have been always an over achiever since I can remember. Then I started working, raising my children, taking care of my home, husband, teaching Sunday school, youth leader, 4H leader, my mom and dad's home. I just couldn't sleep. I was exhausted, I prayed Lord what is going on, my life is like the energized bunny. Everyone kept saying girl you need to slow down. Working only for a couple months full time, I became injured at work, I was devastated, my entire life came to a halt. I have been totally disabled for 16 years, I have been sooo stressed and depressed. After 27 years of marriage my husband left saying he wasn't happy, that he was leaving. It was like what now Lord. He says he will not give you more than you can bare. My divorce dragged on for almost 3 years, the family was in turmoil, I had no idea how to make it on my own with a very limited income. The one thing I can say, prayer, God's telephone line, faith, and unconditional love. I don't have much, but what I do have is priceless. God's amazing Grace and mercy. I have no idea how anyone lives without Him. Thank you for letting the Lord use you, your husband, and family. Watching and waiting for my ticket on that gospel ship to my forever home. Prayers and Love

Often and I'll speak for myself we long for a different season but embracing the season and ALL that it pertains is truly freeing. I love that you seek the Lord for wisdom. I do the same and he has faithfully guided me through even the smallest of trials and snags. He cares about the laundry, the schooling, the house work and your relationship with your spouse! I felt guilty getting a cleaner as someone single without kids. But I work very long hours and felt my whole weekend was spent doing washing and cleaning. Getting a cleaner once a fortnight to do my bathrooms and floors it costs me so little less than 2 hours of the cleaners time and allows me to spend time decompressing from my week. God bless you Sarah. You are so blessed. Thank you for sharing your stress and not hiding it. You are so real. Love you . Stress out and cry and scream. And then do what you do. Turn it over to God.

I'm thankful for this video..I thought a lot about what you said last night in a difficult situation that arises often.. I like the way you said "the Lord doesn't want us to camp in certain situations" in other words we are to roll our cares on Him.. but sometimes the situation does not allow for very many escapes.. except to escape to the Lord.. sometimes all that is required to not camp in some situations is to be forgiving.. forgiveness releases one from many stressful situations and prevents bitterness.. God gives grace for every day and we only need to look for His mercies..everyday.. Love and blessings sister! Merry Christmas

God has send you and Solo with much wisdom for me. I am 72 years old and not able to do a lot like I used to do when I was young. I had 8 children and they are all grown and my husband passed 14 years ago. I live in my home with my son , his wife and there two children. Getting used to children again is rough. I love them and they are great children. I am praying for my life to calm down a little . I do lots of things at my church and find being with like mind people is a blessing. I gained wisdom from Solo’s message on being joyful and now your message on being peaceful. You ministry on your Channel is amazing and I know that the Holy Spirit is guiding and directing your footsteps. May God continue to bless all of you! Merry Christmas ! And may the new year bring new blessings in your family.

Thank you so much for this video! I watch your channel all the time. I am a newlywed, and my dream for my life is to be a stay at home mom, that is what my mother did and it meant so much to me. I first started watching your channel for advice on raising children, but I found that the advice you give applies to so many more areas of my life. I really do thank you for your words of wisdom and I really appreciate how you put God at the center of it all!

"Comparison is the thief of joy" Thank you for that. How did you know I needed to hear that? Wonderful video. All I could think of while watching was how wonderful it would be to have you as a friend.

You are such an inspiration and God had you make this video for many to see because I felt like he was talking to me through you. The peacefulness in your voice and the authenticity was what I needed. I absolutely adore your family and thank you.

Very encouraging. Thank you Sara! I still find that my older kids start to misbehave when they are needing more Individual attention too. Comparison is a thief- it took me a long time to stop comparing and am still learning to just stay in my own lane because this is what God has called me to do NOT what someone else is doing.

Sarah, thank you so much for this video. I am not in a place of stress right now but I have definitely taken encouragement from your videos when I have been. I think a lot of times we as mom's have a martyr attitude where we feel we just have to put up with the stress in our lives rather than see what we can change or how we can change our perspective. Thanks for your ministry here on KZbin. Love from Kansas City.

I have discovered your channel as a recommendation after watching the other family. I just love how God uses you to give encouragement and advice without trying too hard. Obviously all you tubers edit their content, but yours keeps it real still. I really enjoy your videos and tried to implement some things in our situation. Love from the always green Northern Ireland. ❤️

This was a good reminder to take note of the things that cause the most stress! As someone almost done with my phd, my stress is all grad school and job hunting and dissertation, but its helpful to check in on the most stressful and work at adjusting or changing my approach. I tend to camp in ths stress, and need to be reminded to check in. I'm also glad you talked through the struggle of asking for help, I often am reluctant to ask but it can be what is needed to help the stress!

Thank you Sarah for keeping it real. We all have our own stresses in life but I feel in no matter what season we are in we can relate. The housekeeper is one of the best things we ever did in our home. I encouraged my daughter who is a newly wed to get one as well. She agrees that it’s one of the best investment into her married life. One less stress in this busy society. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Sarah, Thank you for sharing all that you did in this video. Love how you speak in a calm and down to earth manner. Your channel is such a blessing to so many of us! As a homeschooling mama of 4 and pregnant with the 5th, I’m constantly so encouraged and also humored (when you and Solo make funny videos) by your approach and family. Blessings from Colorado!

Sata I want to thank you for this video. When you said “I don’t think the Lord wants me to camp in a place of stress” I felt that. I am going through and very emotional season. Divorce and losing my 3 beautiful step children I have loved and raised as my own for several years. I learned from your video that I should pray differently. Instead of asking God for so much strength and comfort I think I need to ask for direction. I appreciate your candid and real approach!! I would love to see a bible study series from you and Solo....not to add to your chaos. I know your hands are full!! I just think we could learn so much from you. Big hugs to you on your bad days!

I love your attitude. As mothers we tend to beat ourselves up and constantly compare ourselves and our lives to others. God has a way of showing us the lesson if we just wait on Him and know that He will NEVER put more on us than we can handle. Each test is custom made for us and to bring glory to God. Much love from Indiana 😊

This was an excellent video, thank you. Funny thing is when you talked about the “other mom” I knew exactly who you were talking about so it was no surprise to me it was her, but love watching you both!! Thanks for all your hard work.

Awesome video... Comparison is the thief of joy....That statement speaks volumes, my friend and I watched this and she became so emotional, because I was just speaking to her about this exact same thing. She constantly compares her situation to others and gets so discouraged because of it. I know her hearing this from someone else will help start focusing on her own situations.

I've been following you for quite awhile now. I think before last Christmas or there abouts. Time diffuses for me anymore. LOL You have always been such a sweet, honest and thoughtful creator. I enjoy the moments I get to be part of your family and your lives. You have been in my prayers for this season of adjustment your are experiencing. The first bit after the addition is stressful and like you said it can go on for up to year. But, it does eventually level out and it levels out little by little over times which helps a lot. You are super sweet to think about sharing this side of your life for others to be inspired. It is clear to me that this was led by the Father. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!

Well, first thing you are so beautiful and your hair looks cute like you have it....you may cut out some of the "more stressful" moments, but you can tell that you and Solo has everything together just by the dynamics of your children....I love everything you had to say...as a Christian myself I pray and ask for guidance and like you sometimes I had to wait for an answer and as I'm waiting on an answer that tought me patience....I love how real and honest you are....I've said it before and I will say it again since I started watching your channel you, Solo, and all the children have helped me in so many ways and for that I'm grateful....thank you ......Big hugs, loves, and prayers!!!!!

Thanks Sarah - Even though I have no children at home, I could glean some tips from you. You’re correct that the Lord doesn’t want us to live in a stressful spirit 24/7, although some stress can be healthy. It brings us to a place of stretching and growth, teaching us to take a step back and reevaluate what is causing it- Blessings for your day!

I love the way you said it. You’re praying for something. You wait. But the second you hear about it you know it’s meant for you. I’ve been dealing with a personal situation for the past year and I didn’t know what to do. Prayed and waited and the second I found the solution peace came over me completely.

Sarah, You are beautiful inside and out. If any person takes ANY umbrage from anything you have said in this vlog, it's their loss, you show total humility and understanding and you're only giving your experienced advice as asked. God bless you and your family x
