This goes very well with BJ's Hogan Drill video

Another reason the right arm flips and dominates the release is due to a weak shift left coupled with the left side stalling through impact. Maintaining a leading/dominant left side insures the right side stays in check. Just like you demonstrated at 8:20 ;)

Great video! I have been playing for 50 years, the flip has always been the bane of my golf swing, although I played my whole life as a single digit I somehow learned to get away with it. Good chipping and great putting makes up for a lot of sins. I took lessons and bought books but nothing ever fixed my flip. Until today when I watched this video. I went out this morning and hit the ball better than I have ever hit it, ever!! I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. Thank you!

I have liked/loved many teaching videos in the past, I take it all back. Your slow motion practice makes so much sense, I now believe there’s hope for this old dog yet!

I like this idea my coach told me to put a head cover under my right armpit, then do half swings,this exaggerates the feeling of not flipping and swinging in a circle Thanks Peter

I really appreciate this. I have long understood all the key information about the golf swing. I can do it slow motion, I can do it half swings in my basement, I can do it practice swings. But put a ball in front of me outside on the range, and on the course, and I bail out and release early. It is like a full swing yipp. I think it does go back to my early golf. Maddening to KNOW what to do, and still can't get my subconscious to do it or allow it!

The move you do at 8:18 looks like Moe Norman's magic move. Thanks for the tip, I was doing this a while back but felt I wasn't getting any power from my arms. I think I'll go back to it as it was making my shots a lot more contestant.

Root cause of the flip is an unbalanced swing.

I’m the “not so great player” who address and impact look the same and my hands flip thru. Now I know I need more rotation thru impact. Thanks!

You can do it, thanks for watching!

Great video; what if you could do it perfect in the practice swing; but flip when you do it with the ball?
@Augustagolfinstruction5 жыл бұрын
In that case you would need to make the correct motion at a slow enough speed for the ball to be present and not interfere.

What is the result of a flip? A thin shot? At impact is the left wrist is flat and the right wrist bent?
@Augustagolfinstruction7 жыл бұрын
Fat, thin, left, right and all variations due to the timing of the flip.
