Dealing with the pinion gear slipping on the xmaxx

What I've do/done to fix the gear issue. 1: never buy Traxxas replacement gears 2: make sure you clean the new gear and grub screw with brake clean. There coated with oil to keep them from rusting and that causes the loctite not to work. 3: make sure the flat part of the motor shaft is flat, use a file to re flatten the shaft if needed. 4: use a good pinion gear. I like hot racing and tekno. Good luck. You'll get it bro 👍

Add loctite 620 to the shaft/inside of pinion and it’ll will NEVER come off, unless you use heat. I literally use a torch lighter. I still use red loctite on pinion set screw.
