I've said this elsewhere and I will say it again: these characters have died and been rescued and resurrected and discovered to be living in alternate timelines so often throughout the run of Supernatural that I think it's reasonable to assume they still exist or will somehow come back within that 'verse; they always have before. Also, HUGE kudos to Misha for his performance in that final scene. I have no idea how he got through that, because I barely make it through these video clips.

@@AngelicWings I stopped watching around season 5 precisely because it was getting to be too heavy for me, so what I know about subsequent seasons is very limited - like I didn't know about all the alternative timelines being destroyed - but I seem to recall characters saying that all this stuff had happened before, and even if that's not possible anymore, just thinking about how many long dead characters have come back just based on the 5 seasons I have seen, I can't imagine how many MORE people have been rescued in the 10 seasons I haven't seen. I just can't believe that possibility just doesn't exist anymore for anyone. To me, that would actually be antithetical to canon, so yes, these characters do still exist as does the power and possibility of them reuniting, as they always seem to do. I'm glad that's comforting and I hope anyone struggling with the finale finds comfort in that, too.

@@AngelicWings Okay, I've been thinking about it, and this is what really happened, (Or, if Chuck can destroy all the universes, I can create one): Everything that happened in the series was a horrible dream that John Winchester had when he fell asleep in front of the T.V. in the pilot episode. He's awake now, Mary, Dean and Sam are alive and well and they all have a nice family life. Eventually, Sam graduates from Stanford and has a lucrative career and a good marriage to Jess or whomever fans would like him to marry. Dean also has a good career, perhaps as a mechanic and collector wherein he restores classic cars. He meets and marries a wonderful man named Cas and they attend family picnics and anniversaries and birthdays at Sam's house and Sunday dinners with John and Mary. They sometimes drive out to spend a week or so with their friend Bobby so Dean can help him salvage and restore old cars. Sometimes Dean and Cas invite their grumpy old neighbor Crowley over for cards and a beer or they meet Sam over at Ellen's bar and they play pool with Ashe and everyone is happy and everything is wonderful forever and Dean and Cas are in love and Dean regularly tells Cas he loves him and Cas couldn't be happier.
