I love Dean Martin. He was so great at improvising. My favorite movie he was in was Rio Bravo with John Wayne, another favorite.

Dean Martin was the greatest entertainer in the past 100 years. And the world will be lucky if another person comes along in the next 100 years that could sing, act and be as much fun to watch as Dean Martin was. Rest in peace Mr. Dean Martin. John S. Campana

+Robert Meier VERY TRUE when my Gma passed away on 1/7/'015 I watched The Dean Martin Show & then instantly laughed & was having so much fun! :) & forgot all about it till we started talking about things we did together.... I remember what happened that dark day... it got real chilly when I was on the PC so I hopped in the shower (not too much info there & no more than that) then it was still really chilly with the door closed I knew something was going wrong but I couldn't place it, then from outside that bathroom door "Gma passed away a second ago." That's why it was like 2 degrees feeling in the house.... the worst thing is... I didn't even say "Goodbye" or the night b4 "good night" :'( *tears up* that's probably the reason I got really chilly in the shower.

Everything is fantastic about Dino.... but also stop and thinks about something else that makes him so great. Listen to the musical arrangements. They to are absolutely great. Credit should be given to Les Brown and his Band of Renown. He to is great. Not always possible to join two such performers in one classic show, but here we have it. and not forgetting KEN Lane who too is brilliant and s we know that Kn and Dino can not be separated. what a great combination. Top of the tree for me............

These people were not simply acting. They actually forgot they were acting and simply got swallowed in the fun of acting. And there is something about the music of the time. I am not an American, but I find this so intriguing even though I am removed from it both by time and geography.

In my opinion, Dean was always a much better singer than Frank. I know Frank had millions of fans, but Dean's voice was so easy and singing came so naturally for him. He will always be my number one singer.❤

I want to agree with you so bad, but for some reason I just love Frank more as a singer....I dunno why....it's this intangible something that Frank had....But hey who cares?! Its not like its a competition! Frank Sinatra fans & Dean Martin fans go together like Rum & Coke! =) They were both GREAT & really wonderful together! I am blessed that I got to see them live in the 80s. I went to a concert with my grandfather & though I was only a teenager, I will NEVER forget it. It's a golden, wonderful memory!

Dean burned up more cigarettes than he smoked and his drunk act was just that an act, usually he had tea or apple juice in his glass but this was what people looked for in him. I was lucky because in the 1960’s I knew people who knew the members of the rat pack and going on trips with them as a nanny to their two children I got to met these wonderful men outside their entertainment classification and was welcomed into their homes, Mr Martin was never anything but wonderful to a poor young girl from Kansas and because he treated me like I was important the rest of the pack did too. There will never be men like this again believe me, they were the real thing, great performers and kind men! By the way I am 75 years old. By the way nobody knows how close we came to losing Mr. Martin as an entertainer when his son died in that horrible plane crash and I believe it was his undoing and lead to an earlier death than should have been!

Bob Newhart was a great comedian, but in the driving instructor sketch Dean was just so much funnier just sitting there seemingly doing very little. Just the expressions on his face were hilarious!
@joerivandeweyer30562 жыл бұрын
is that the guy who needs a setup of 40 seconds to introduce a sketch of 20 seconds? Yeah he's a comedian all right. Jesus lord he couldn't do anything ad lib. He had some zingers like "ma'am have you got 2 nickels" on the nudist beach, but those were scripted lines. Deano's so much better

The only thing i have against Frank is that he ruined Tommy Sand's career just because his marriage to his spoilt daughter Nancy broke down. I saw Tommy Sands at a big show in Vancouver in 1960 and Tommy was fantastic. Because a marriage breaks down, that is no reason to destroy Tommy. How many marriages break downs did Frank have?
