I dunno. Would a true gentleman cheat on his first wife, the mother of his children, then dump her after he became a star? She was a beautiful hometown girl. Then Dean did the same thing with wife/mother #2, Jeannie.

@@akrenwinkleSame could be said of Sinatra. They were great entertainers but hardly great men. Funny how putting on a tuxedo and smoking a cigarette defines someone as classy in the minds of some. They loved their children, but weren’t good fathers. They were progressive minded and able to empathize with people being mistreated, but were still selfish in many ways.
@akrenwinkle2 ай бұрын
@@markmontieth8815 Yes, it's odd, the things some people regard as "classy." Re Sinatra's empathetic ways, all you need to know is what Sinatra snarled at a Korean-American blackjack dealer when she stuck to the rules and didn't deal the way Frank wanted: "You don't like it, go back to China." His being drunk is no excuse. That's when people REALLY say what they mean.

Everyone is talking about how his voice and performance has depreciated here (in his age). Here's the thing about Dean Martin: He doesn't depreciate, you philistines! Old legends never die, they just get old and gain weight...not true about Dean Martin! His performance here merely demonstrates an added dimension to his character; depth. If you fail to understand that, you fail to understand Dean Martin himself. There will never be another Dean Martin, his combination of comedy, charisma, and unparalleled soul will not be seen again. I have now and forevermore will defend the legacy of this man. For those of you too damn dense to comprehend this notion, I issue genuine pity. However, any true believer in the norms and values of Dean Martin's philosophy will empathize with my insurgencies: Dean Martin will live on as long as we listen to his music and hear his jokes as long as they are available to us. To Dean himself, I would like to thank for the countless hours of music, and the many MANY laughs you inspired. You are a hero and an idol still. God bless your soul, and rein on, my friend.

@James Henderson B.S. -- you must be very young and naive. Didn't your parents ever tell you not to make accusations you can't prove? Or say nasty things or keep bad thoughts to yourself? When you grow up, you'll learn that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, and if you DON'T learn that, you WON'T get the chance to grow very old!! Watch your mouth, it could end your life early if you don't. Our world is getting more intolerant and violent and if you don't learn to be nice, your world could end sooner than you realize!
@mjlejer32414 жыл бұрын
@James Henderson People who make a lot of money are ALWAYS being hounded to donate to this fund or that one -- for a TAX write-off, of course! They tell their accountants to make a donation and usually forget it! Look at the rich Hollywood "sheeple" who have been talked into donating a lot of money to the Scientology cult, and then regretted it when they learned all about that CONTROLLING cult! And then there's those who NEVER learn, they just leave it up to their bean counters to handle their money!
