Watch him sing. He sings like there is nothing to it. It just rolls off his lips with ease. The man is a master at it. Dean Martin has always been one of my idols. I had the honor of meeting Jerry Lewis. He tells me so much about him and Dean. You can see the far away look in Mr. Lewis's eyes when he talks of Dean, and I am all ears when he talks. I watch this video over and over. Atleast three or four times a week. Thanks for putting it on here.

"The Tips Of My Fingers" (I held you right on the tips of my fingers) I reached out my arms and I touched you With soft words I whispered your name I held you right on the tips of my fingers Ah, but that was as close as I came My eyes had a vision of sweet lips Yielding beneath my command I had your love on the tips of my fingers But I let it slip right through my hands But I let it slip right through my hands Somebody took you when I wasn't looking And I should have known from the start That it's a long, long way from the tips of my fingers To the love hidden deep in your heart To the love hidden deep in your heart I had your love on the tips of my fingers But I let you slip right through my hands But I let you slip right through my hands

Remember when singers like Dean and Sinatra would sometimes sing while wearing a trench coat and sometimes stand by a lamp post while singing and fog rolled by? They always wore a suit and tie. Now singers wear torn jeans and sleeveless tees...yuck.

Not that I don't love; and appreciate the, "Chairman of the Board" I have many of his albums, but there was just something about Dean; can't quite put my finger on it, but there will never be another one like him.

The "Image" of a Drunk was created by Dean to complete the comedy side of his ACT. The fact of the matter is that he was no drunk and a tremendous singer, with a beautiful delivery. NBC would not paid a drunk a Millions of dollars for close to twenty yrs. (ie-the Dean martin show and the Dean Martin Roasts. combined)'

When you look at the rat pack. I think Sinatra was the best "artist," of the bunch. Sammy was the most talented and versatile, and Dean was by far the best entertainer. His comedy stylings are genius and his vocals are so unique no one has come close to duplicating them to this day. Although it always disappoints me that such a large period of his career were filled with this quasi country stuff. because I really just don't care for it.
