Everyone's all about Dean's angst, but look at the heartbreaking realization in Sam's eyes that Cas betrayed him, and how offended Cas was at Sam's assumption of Cas bringing him back soulless on purpose. I think it's the only time Sam was upset with Cas. Great Sam and Cas moment, unfortunately all great Sam and Cas moments get buried under the Cas and Dean moments.

Aw my life!!! ..... you can tell how much this seriously breaks Dean's heart! His face throughout this whole scene is an expression of angst! When he finds out Cass' is working with Crowley ... he just breaks! I don't get why everyone's so mad with Dean! I mean ... yeah, I see Cass' side too, and it breaks my heart, but people seem to forget that Dean didn't watch this episode! lol ... he didn't hear Cass' heartbreaking monologue and see the whole story. This is my favorite scene but I don't understand Sam and Dean. There is no way they could have helped him with CIVIL WAR IN HEAVEN. Cas was doing his best and he did not want to bother Dean and he knows that it is because he helped Dean that caused the chaos in Heaven. If he did not do something, Raphael would bring the apocalypse again, that which Sam went to Hell for.

The point that they're hypocrites about working with Crowley is fair. But Sam and Dean Winchester killed Eve, defeated Azazel, turned Castiel and Gabriel to their side, slew three of the Horsemen, have good relations with Death etc etc. They would have been far from useless. If I were Castiel I would have asked them for help as an extension of the war effort. Dramatically it works fine what they did, but in-universe it is an obvious character flaw.

They guilt Cas for working with Crowley. They have. They didn't seem to care less about Rafael being a threat to them and the whole world. Cas kept secrets but since when was he obligated to tell them everything. I sided with Cas in this situation. If they had just helped him sooner the bad ending of this season might have been averted.

I'm totally with you. There are things that humans (no matter how powerful or skillful you are) are not capable of handling. Furthermore Castiel didn't want to risk (especially Dean) them for this dangerous mission. He certainly has no obligation to tell them everything. Cas has rebelled to the heaven for them and has always been there for them and this is how they are treating him just for keeping things to himself? The 3 of them were too much in this scene imo. The brothers did make mistakes and kept things to themselves before and that suddenly don't matter here? So not fair for Cas..

I dont get why cas have to go to them for help. Sometimes I think dean, Bobby and sam didn't use their heads. We talking about an archangels who can't be killed (by weapons). The boys doesn't have any weapon to kill Raphael, so let's say cas would come and ask them for help. What would they do ? They couldn't kill Lucifer in season 5, so what can they do to stop Raphael. What cas did was in that time the only way to stop Raphael. Sometimes I think the boys overestimate themselves too much. The only thing what cas did wrong was to lie to them, but he knew they would standing him in his way, when he dont listen to them. The boys gave him no choice.

0:54 The look Dean looks at Castiel when he asks, without a single word but the look in his eyes is enough. The deep bond between Dean and Castiel is seen here, (obviously in other episodes). The pain in Dean's eyes 😢, despite some of Castiel's mistakes, Dean has always forgiven his best friend.

Y'know every time I think about when Cass went dark side season 7 and 8, I keep thinking 'Cass wouldn't have went dark side if Sam and Dean just helped him fight the war instead of just calling on him when they need something.' Honestly I've been thinking that for a while, and I've been thinking about how Sam and Dean were dicks to Cass for a long while and did nothing to make up for it. I originally thought Cass went to Crowley in the first place because the Winchester's wouldn't help him with the war, but now I'm not even sure if that was even the case. Even so, Sam and Dean need to fix up their behavior. They've had this dick behavior towards Cass for 11 seasons and Cass had only just done something about it now. And Sam saying he did a 'piss poor job' of getting him out of hell was just a trashy move. I'm sure raising someone out of hell is not a walk not in the park.

Now that it's been revealed in S14 Finale that God's actually behind everything, that S4E1 and S6E1 took somewhat a laughable turn. S4E1: God: "Guys, I know I just killed Dean in the ending of my last book, but right now I need an Angel to go and raised him from hell." S6E1: God: "Guys, I know I made Sam one with Lucifee so I can lock them in a cage so he wouldn't disturb me anymore in my last book. But I need him back for my new book, so is there any angel willing to raise him from hell, but... You know, leave Lucifer out of him?"

Dean became such a selfish asshole then this scene tries to convince us that Cas never tried telling them and they would have helped him after they literally told him they did not care that he was fighting a war.
